My car has seemed to have developed a fault.

When its set to off it works (as in does nothing).

When I push it up for the one off wipe after light rain it wipes 7 to 8 times, then when they stop they will stop wherever, but hardly in the correct place.

This is the same when its set on the first, second or third setting.

I have tried; Washing the windscreen near sensor area and replacing a sensor, but have had no luck.

Its booked into Honda Monday for them to try and diagnose the issue.

Any Ideas?

Very common it seems mine has just started doing the same and it's so annoying

I'm gonna get the motor out if mine when I get some spare time and give it a good clean out as per the guides on here which seem to cure the problem

Thanks so far. I had the car serviced recently and only really noticed it after that, im hoping it was a firmware issue, probably not knowing my luck tho lol. Ill let you know what Honda say next week.

I performed the cleaning job on mine last year, unfortunatly the fault has just returned :(
Im going to remove and clean again as i cannot justify new replacement costs.
Does anyone know if or when an improved motor was introduced to the 8th gen civic?

Exactly the same happened to me on an Escort I had years ago.... Stripped down the motor and the amount of crap I cleaned out was unbelievable. Worked fine once cleaned....
