Hi, I just wanted to know if using super unleaded (Shell V-Power 99) in a Accord 2.4 i-VTEC will make any difference to MPG and performance?

Thanks :)

It used to make a small difference in better mpg and grunt in mine. That was on an old 03 plate previous model Type S. Not sure at the current price of vpower vs normal unleaded its really worth it though.

I have been using optimax then and Vpower now in my 2.4 for three years and I haven’t looked back to be honest. The engine seems very eager and rev happy, and the best the tailpipes look less sooty over normal petrol .

The only performance gains you will see at top end revs, based on that make your choice.

I found that switching to Optimax (forerunner of V-Power) cleared engine hesitation in an Accord Type-R I owned a few years ago.

I'm guessing the detergents in it cleaned the fuel system.

MPG slightly better too.
