I washed them with bolt hamber surfex let them dry over a day then coated with hydrate80 let that cure 24 hours then coated with stone chip paint then came back to it after about 3 weeks then finished them today so a bit of a process.
On the question of the inside of the front wheel arch lining nearest the front doors, this used to be a collection point for huge accumulation of road dirt and mud which never dried out and as a result caused the metalwork inside and behind the wheel arch lining to corrode. This was particularly noticeable on the Audi TT and I believe the Mk4 Golf which needed clearing out periodically. I have never had the wheel arch lining off on the Honda Civic and don't particularly want to unless it is necessary and so I don't know what accumulation there likely to be, if any. Has anyone any experience of this please.
Sorry I dont think I made myself clear. I meant to ask whether there was there an accumulation of mud in the space between the wheel arch liner and the metal of the body just in front of the door?.
I appreciate you may not have taken it off but if not I was wondering whether anyone else had.
Looks fantastic that. I had my rear callipers greased up friday as they were sticking, mechanic who did them said they should be fine now but those backing / dust plate things were rotten as seen on OP pictures above.
any one know what there actually called (so i can look for some on Ebay) or can point me in right direction of getting some.
Edit> found them 'rear brake backing plates' 35 quid each
