I had a 2.2 cdti SI civic with 17" alloys with 215 X45 X 17" tyres I fitted a set of 16" steel wheels with 205 X55 X 16" tyres for winter use. The wheels have a 55 offset.

I have just bought a new Civic DTI 1.6 but kept the winter wheels , but the winter wheels do not fit, they foul the brake calliper, the standard alloys wheels are 16" with 205 X55 X 16" tyres. The wheels have a 45 offset.

I assume if I fit 10 mm spacers the steel wheels will fit the new car. Are spacers a safe way to proceed?, will the stud bolts be long enough to fully bolt up the wheels, or do I have to fit longer stud bolts to the wheel flange?

Thanks

Theres is two types of spacer...speak to ABP on here...they do both types.
1. bolt to hub and wheel bolt to spacer.
2. bolts through spacer and wheel with longer bolts.
