My 2010 CRV ES iDTEC is now 18 mths old, with 33,000 miles on it

Thinking about trading for a new one (exactly the same) with Honda's current offer of 0% for 48 months on 60% of the RRP HP, combined with 4 years 'free servicing' and the car has only risen in RRP by £2k from what mine originally cost

So when's the best time to trade

a) Now

b) 2 years

c) 3 years

It all seems a game of chance

Currently pricing up 2 dealers to see what their offer and availability will be

Decisions:confused:

With the state the economy is in I would wait another 6 months and then decide as I feel it will be a huge buyers market next year. The secondhand car market is already in a massive nose dive and the salesmen will most likely be on their hands and knees begging you to buy a new car.

Its all about what a particular dealer will offer. You dont have to stick to local dealers.

Good point:eek: - do you recommend a dealer?

Phoned 2 today at 10am

Dealer 1 called back at 4.30pm saying there was no availability of a Manual Diesel ES until Feb and the projected price to swap was £9000

They could do an EX now, will price one up tomorrow

Dealer 2 (who supplied me in 2010) has yet to call back:rolleyes:

I would as i did call as many dealers as you have time to.Different dealers have different stock and different tagets .Worth the effort i think.

About 80 would seem to be a reasonable age (depending on own condition of course) ;)
Because that's the average age at which to buy a Civic instead? :worms:

I would go with FWH on this one.
Shift it before the new on comes out.
Yes,the economy is in a mess and it will remain so, for several years to come.
Not only that, but 4x4 prices are very strong at the moment - after the last 2 winters. In 2008 they were in the pits (when I bought my CRV). A year and a half later I sold it for almost 2K more that I bought it for.

I wouldn't worry. The CR-V is a car with the one of the strongest resale values out there.

Picking up a new ES on Friday, mine is 23 months old and 38k

Same invoice OTR price as in 2010, but now with a £500 towbar thrown in FOC and Vat was 15% in 2010, now it's 20%

Cost is less than in 2010, to swap

Good deals out there:)

4 years service pack included too

This is particularly the case at the moment as the new CR-V comes out very soon...

Glad to be buying the old model, never buy a new model in the first launch year................is my advice
True enough, although, from what I read, it seems there is more in common in this new generation from the previous one than any other CR-V generation change.

I suppose you could also argue that is another reason for not bothering with the new one :)

In the dealers today, at the sales guy admitted the G9 Civic hasn't been a storming success to date.................so another reason to buy a current CRV for me (I might not like the latest new CRV, having never seen it or driven it yet)

Saw my new one today and getiing a bit excited now:p

Curiously.. recently done a marketing survey from Honda.

Basically about the current CR-V asking what I thought of the look with a blingy (aero sport) pack, new bumpers, 19" wheels, spoiler etc. what did I think of the look, how much would i expect the CR-V to cost with it on, loads of stuff like that.

I suspect - as the new CR-V is imminent sales of the current one have dropped off and to keep things going they are considering launching a tarted up 'special' with extras thrown in. Might be a last minute bargain for someone happy with the current model looking to change if it happens.

Not sure about 19" wheels, would look fantastic but oh-oh the ride!
no thanks.

Got mine yesterday..........................:p:p

Opted for the 17" wheels on it, from a SE+

Drives pretty well, but the red takes a bit of getting used to and the iMID computer now reads out the warning info as well as drawing your attention to it, by way of a symbol - pretty coolio
