ok peps it will soon be time for me to replace my stock discs and pads on my Type R as they are pretty pants and a little worn. so can you knowledgable people recommend a set of front discs and pads for me, i dont want to spend a fortune but at the same time i dont want any cheap rubbish. All your helpful info will be appreciated.

Dennis at tdi highly recommended the ferodo ds2500 pad didnt rate ebc at all. Best thing you can do by far tho is braided 6 line kit do this before the pads and discs so you can feel the difference before you go to the expense of changing everything.

Ive tried alot of combos on my accord, best performance was with brembo blanks and ds2500 or predator pads. I must add I already had motul 5.1 and hel braided lines all round. I was able to use ds2500 front pads as I have ATR calipers up front.

Definitely EBC turbogrooved disks - as for pads, nobody seems to have bad word for the Ferodos - but you really need an upgraded fluid and brake hoses as well …

I agree with all the others braided hoses DO make a difference. They transmit more power to the pads (stainless steel braid stops the hose from expanding under pressure)

Ferodo DS2500's, HEL braided lines, Stoptech discs and Motul RBF600 fluid will greatly improve your stopping power.

1} The 'OP' wanted a good budget deal, which is why I recommended EBC disks ...

2} Wouldn't "Do-Luck" lines be the cheapest braided hoses ? ...

+1 for EBC pads and rotors. Go with the yellowstuff pad for sure!

Hi mate,

My setup is; Powerslot 350mm.Disc with Ferodo DS2500 at the front and EBC Ultimate Sport Slotted Disc with Ferodo DS2500 at the rear and Goodridge Braided Brake Lines front and rear with Castrol Super Dot4.:cool:

You could take EBC Ultimate in front in sted of the Powerslot because the EBC is not that expensive as the Powerslot.
Whatever you would choose the Ferodo is a MUST, they are perfect!:police:

I hope this will hepl you further.

Yeeppp, when you upgrade the disks and pads, the weak link is then the flexible hoses and then the brake fluid used ...

So, braided (6-line) stainless steel flexibles and a superior quality DOT 4.0 or DOT 5.1 (not DOT 5.0) fluid ...

thanks buddy that makes perfect sense, i dont know why Honda didnt put braided lines on in the first place especially on the higher performance type R. Oh well another thing to shell out for lol
