Which is quicker 1.8 type s or type s gt

This has been bugging me for a while!
The 0-60 time is STATED the same for both models but surely this cant be right due to the gts heavy roof?

Or am i missing something?

Wont it just depend on the drivers?
Take into consideration weight of the passengers/driver.
Luggage or anything in the car etc?

Very True lets just say i was able to drive both cars identically which would be quicker.

Just check there is only a 30kg difference according to parkers so i doubt much difference in times!

well i noticed in the brochures for the crz that the S and sport are faster than the GT.

I think its down to the roof and what ever extras you get too.

But to be honest, in the real world who looks at 0-60 times on a road car, unless your tracking it right?

I do when i have an idiot in a 1.4 corsa trying to tell me that a type s gt will be faster because its a GT hahahah thats the only reason i bothered to check ;) (honest :facepalm: )

plus you would have better vision in the GT so your be able to see better :facepalm:, Glass is heavy but so its metal so its not a massive difference

I think they are the same engine wise? just has more optional extras and panoramic roof? its sums it up what he knows... he drives a corsa ;)

There is quite a difference in weight between the metal roof and the glass one.

The thickness of the metal is between 0.8 and 1mm thick and glass is roughly 5-8mm thick, then take into account the different strength crossmembers that go across each side.

Corsa owners hear GT and get all wet with excitement.

The difference in the whole car is 30 kg

Yep your spot on I was just intrigued because I struggled to find facts on actual weight difference but it's not that much!

30kg will make a difference if it didnt why do racing cars carry 20kg penalties etc? if i could click my fingers and lose 30kg off mycar i would be well happy!

I'm nearly 40 now and still get idiots at work tell me that

This is faster than that

Skylines are they best cars ever.

"my mate" has a 2000bhp Nissan micro deluxe.

Impreza's have poor build quality compare to Seat.

Ive learnt to just switch off

i listen to the point they say something ridiculous then i smile and nod until they go away, i love talking cars and tuning but cant be doing with listening to how fast a saxo goes since they installed a badger set in place of an exhaust

Winds me up id rather have a nice shiny standard car than a ridiculous corsa/equivalent
