Evening folks. Having done 38K now I'm fairly sure I need some new brake pads! Sumopower are doing an offer and I am keen to exploit this opportunity, however I can't decided between the two... the only thing putting me off trackmaster is the need to warm them up. I hope to track the car at some point but haven't found a date that works yet at a location near enough.

I was also considering the Ferodo DS 2500, but the Cosworths seen to be getting good reviews.

ferodo dont require warming and are excellent, i think it was pigdog who has had both and he rated ferodo more highly

Mine have only lasted 12k miles.! Getting streetmasters on Monday. Was going to get ferodo 2500 but Tdi north said the cosworths are just as good so went with their advice.

I bought some StreetMasters recently and they've been fitted for a few hundred miles now. They already feel perfect, much better bite and require no warming up

And they are silent (no squeaking)

Any special bedding in required like ferodos?

The only 'procedure' I've undertaken is being gentle on the brakes for the first few hundred (300-500) miles so that the thin layer of transfer film can be layed down on the discs (which are also new Powerslots).

About to order these (been busy at work and doing my usual think about things too much) but before I do can someone answer a(nother) quick question. My rears aren't looking too bad, do you need to replace both front and rear at the same time (as I'm changing brand). I ask as I don't want to upset the braking balance etc... especially with all computer trickery (VSA etc). Thanks! opcorn:

You dont need to do do the fronts aswel if its just your rears, it wont affect any balance ect. Ive got a bbk on the front and complete oem rears

Just ordered front & rear Streetmasters - would have gone with the DS2500 but strictly speaking there not road legal but the Streetmasters are as they have ECE R90 approval!

BTW Trackmasters arn't road legal in Europe either! Doh!
