Not sure if this is a weird question, but the underside of my bonnet seems to have a white powder dusty residue around the outside of the material soundproofing. Anyone else have this or know what it might be? It’s a 1.6 diesel 66 plate.
Yep mine was like this when I bought it in March 2019 (13 plate 1.6 diesel). Have to say I hadn't a clue but think that the road salt idea is possible. Anyway car hasn't had any issues for the last 2 years so I wouldn't worry about it
Mine has that too.. Does it look like this? I was told by the dealer who sold it to me (2nd hand) that it was soap....can it be?
It's also got some white stuff sprayed in the hinges and locks that seems to be some corrosion prevention liquid.... anyone else?
I Had white deposits on underside of my Hyundai Santa Fe sound deadening material under bonnet removed white deposits with damp microcloth two orvthree times. It occurred after replacement battery fitted with vented cell caps. Previous battery codensed fumes in a sealed battery. I reckon it was hydrogen sulphate deposits from the new battery, never had it before with the original sealed battery. Obviously they didn't fit a true factory replacement at Endeavour Hyundai.
