Ok, I'm loving my new 9th gen can't really fault it... except one thing!

Is just me or is the hazard button just too big?

It seems out of proportion to the rest of the dash/switches. IMO it should be half the size.

Is there some new euro law that say's you have to have big one? I doubt it as the new CR-V has a reasonable size one.

I know if that' all I have to worry about, then I'm lucky lol... but just wondered if anyone else had thought the same

Cabin is no where near as nice as the 8th.

awww! I love the boiled sweet hazzard button in the 8th gen - not getting a 9th gen just for that huge ugly thing

I am under impression that it''s not only hazard button really... Whole dash compared to 8th gen is a disaster starting with that ugly steering wheel...

... but it may be just me.

Actually, like the whole car, pics dont do it justice... It's a very nice place to be, still funky and loads of tech... but the main thing is the build quality... it's very well put together and no cheap plastics anywhere! Makes my mates 11 plate golf look cheap inside lol

I probably wouldn't have noticed this to be honest.

But now you have mentioned it, i agree it is too big. It will bug me forever now with the 9th gen!

As said, prefer 8th gen. Not just the interior though, sadly.

Hope you can get over the button size though!

Be interesting to know how many have sat in the 9th gen before deciding it's not as good as the 8th?

I sat in one while at dealership having my recall checked out (wiring loom thingy..) + I sat in one again when i was waiting for them to check my paint for warranty work.

The design is worse than 8th gen in my opinion, but seems as though the quality has improved. Things line up better etc.

I'd still prefer my 8th gen to a 9th gen inside & out!

EDIT:

Also i think the 9th gen trays / little storage compartments feel better too.

I used to work for the company who make the internal comps for the 9th gen

Sorry to say it is not in the same class as the 8th gen

Inside or out ....

I was thinking the opposite, I really like the steering wheel. Its small and got a very nice touch/feeling to it when you hold it.

They prob had to fill the gap between the vents with something, so the hazard switch made sense but I do prefer the 8th gens round switch.

Steering wheel looks fine to me.

I wonder if the hazard switch was to make it easy to spot and press in an emergency?

What I do like on the 9G when compared to a Focus or Astra is the lack of chrome strips.
I was looking at a neighbours new Astra yesterday and the chrome surround to the central dash area was such a distraction and looks horrible. A colleagues 2008 Focus is the same.

I think all black is far more tasteful

Due to the new position it would look funny if it wasnt the same height as the vents.
