Do you use different tyres in the winter? Or is it just the one set, until you need to buy new ones?

Here in Finland we have two sets of tyres for our cars. Not as standard, though. We have to buy them on top of the price of the car. :?

Wouldn't really want to drive all year without them up here so I guess it's just one of those things that we have to live with.

The UK market is a nightmare for this. Most UK car owners will look at you in a puzzled fashion when you mention winter tyres.

UK cars come with summer tyres. So when it's cold we just slither around and slide into the ditch. The general consensus is that's it's too expensive and too much bother to have winter tyres.

Our cars only come with one set of tyres too. We have to buy the other set ourselves, usually from the same dealer. On this occasion I was offered alloys that come standard on Accords that are imported here.
Apparently they have plenty left over, since the sport level wheels get put on only after the cars arrive here.

So two different sets of alloys. 17"s in the summer and 16"s for winters. 8)
