Im after some help, if possible
I've looked through the site but can't find an answer

In the last couple of days or so my wipers have been doing their own thing!!!!!!

If I push the stalk up for a one off wipe it goes for about 5 times and then the blades just stop anywhere
If I go for intermittent then they go for about 10 times and then just stop anywhere, not back into their stopped position

This happened 3 days ago, the next day they we're fine for half of my journey and then all of a sudden went do lally again

Has anybody experienced this before and if so do they know a fixable solution

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers

Ian

This was discussed recently on the forum....can't remember the name of the thread though lol.

It seems to happen to some people only in cold weather and apparently the only cure is too change the wiper motor :(

Not experienced that myself but sounds like a loose connection somewhere. Check the connections on the motor.
Or take it into to a garage I don't think its a common problem.

Hi, another thread here. And another one here. I have been suffering this for ages now. The recommended fix is a new wiper motor, cost upward of £275 although someone on the forum was successful when he took the motor apart and cleaned up all the points. There is also a thread somewhere on how to change the motor.
I assume you haven't just changed your wiper rubbers as getting the wrong ones can cause these problems.

Had this problem on my last Civic, mate. Honda quoted me £300 for new wiper motor. Never fixed it.

Hi
Same problem here on a 2007 type S, Dealer confirmed it was a wiper motor & quoted for parts & labour was €418 . Service manager told the best think to do was learn to live with it.
I contacted 3 other honda dealers & the cheapest quote was €300 so pays to shop around.
January is not a good month to fork out for something that still sort of works(if ya know what I mean).Ill wait till it wont wipe no more.

mad wipers

We have had mad wipers on our 06 civic for a few months now. Annoying but currently tolerable compared to >£300 for dealer fix. My digging has indicated Honda US has a low cost fix for a similar issue which seems to be related to water getting into the motor/gearbox unit. 8thcivic.com and this link appear to show a US honda service note for the fix, but the replacement cover identified does not seem to be listed in the UK, and this fix does not seem to be available in the UK.

How different are the UK and US variants of civic wiper motors?

Just read this thread; you all may find this educational......

compare prices between

76505-SNA-A02 - Honda MOTOR, FR. WIPER

and

2007 HONDA CIVIC EXI FRONT WINDSHIELD WIPER (LH) - Original Honda Parts | Lings Honda | Honda Cars

and finally....

76505-SNA-305 - Honda BOTTOM COVER ASSY

I think that this motor fits the Hybrid in both markets, so the comparison is valid.

So, in the UK we have to fork out for the complete motor @ 209.75, whereas in the US a repair part is available at about a tenner! Anyone from Honda looking at this care to comment?

Seems that as usual we are getting veritably rogered in the 'Untied Kingdom'

Regards

Had this a few months ago. New motor fitted and all is good now! Honda originally said it was dirty terminals, which stopped the problem for a few hours! Luckily the car was under warranty!

Just to say I've had the same pair of LED side light builds in my civic for approx 4 years & the issue only started about 5 months ago. It settled down & behaved itself for a while but started back last month.
After the main dealer diagnosed it as a wiper motor I have got it replaced today. All going well so far I will post again if it starts again.

Quick Update
its 1 week since I replaced the wiper motor and it seems to have sorted the issue so far the wipers are behaving themselves and doing what they are ment to be doing.
I know its early days but the motor seems to be the problem. If it starts acting up again I'll post .

I disconnected all my leds.. and still i got this problem with wipers.
First i will check connectors with the motor, after coverplate, then i will buy wipers relay.

Changing a motor will be the last think Im going to do.

When I fix it..i tell you definitelly what was the problem. :) Good luck.
