You may have read that i sold the FN2 a little while ago. Long story short I backed out the deal. After test driving BMW 320d x2, 325d, Astra VXR x2 and focus ST with a dump valve there honestly (in my opinion) not a car worthy to replace the FN2 CW. So if you are thinking about selling one then don't unless you don't have to.

It's by far the best car to drive and feel connected to, doesn't feel heavy and lazy compared to these turbo hot hatches.

Don't make the same mistake I nearly did. Realise how lucky we are!

Ive been in a similar situation when I went looking to part ex my fn2. Test drove an Evo X, Evo 9 GT wagon and an escort cosworth all were very nice cars but lacked the fun factor of the Type R :D

Same here as well. Mine is actually up for sale elsewhere but the more cars i test drive the less i want to sell mine. I just haven't been able to find a car yet where you can be cruising along in 6th and then instantly drop down a few gears straight into VTEC without any lag. VXR's and ST just dont give you this as they are not N/A and don't have amazing gearboxes. Also my Honda has been pretty bullet proof over the 2 years i've owned it.

I agree, in other cars, vxr and st in particular the gearboxes are awful! Also handling, I can sweep around roundabouts at great pace full of confidence, in those other cars i had no confidence what so ever! They felt like big heavy workmans boots compared to a plimpsole... If thats a valid comparison who knows :S

I think now the only reason i was drawn to them was because of the impressive figure output/gains but when it come down to it, it meant nothing to me. may be quicker or have a bragging right but certainly less fun!

I drove a WRX STi round track two weeks back. Did my head in constantly falling out of boost. Made me really appreciate my car. Give me a FI FN2 anyday.

haha well said mate.

Glad your still around :D
+1 well said that man - budget is the single most important point when choosing a new car - Also the focus ST was a very good all rounder in reviews at realese of the last wave of hot hatches, so TBF it would be the obvious choice to test drive one when looking for a replacement for the ctr.
