I have just turned 23 and my insurance is due next month,

I don't have an m200, just a normal type r and my quote comes in at £660.

Cheapest quote was £1200 with Elephant. 21, 2 years NCB, 2 accidents in past 5 years.

Sounds like you were going for a specialist insurance company if they asked if you had experience. The M200 is exactly the same as a regular Type R performance wise. Just go for a mainstream insurance company.

My m200 is in insurance group 19 ,is a standard type r in this cat number? Dosen't the insurance only go up to group 20 , and group 19 and 20 covers super cars ! Any thoughts anyone
I think insurance groups have changed, something about from 1-50? Could be wrong

They have changed yeah, I think they involve some letters as well as numbers now?

EDIT: Perhaps they don't have letters. Did they use letters in the old system? I'm probably getting confused lol......but yes, groups 1-50 now.

Type R is 34, M200 is 36, M20 is only 39.

yep, a M200 is slightly more to insure than a FN2, I'm guessing because of the extra cost of repairs due to the mugen aero.

you guys make me sick with your "I've just turned 23.... " when I was 23 I could only afford cars that could barely pull the skin off cold custard lol ;)

I'm also 23 but live in an area with high car vandalism rates and break-ins. not to mention the monthly "Car bonfire" or "Wheelie Bin on Fire week". I'm sure kids just set them on fire to see how quick they burn to the ground. Worst.

23 with 5yrs NCB Protected and its £900. Worst.

This is for the M200 only, sorry.
