Hi there,

This thread should give you a better idea of remeoving the front bumper for access or even changing the splitter as there isnt much more to it.

TOOLS:
2X flat head screwdrivers
Phillips screwdriver
10mm spanner/socket (personal prefence ;) )

First of all start by taking the front arches off by just pulling prising them off being carful around the clips holding them on.

Then remove the phillips screw, one either side !!

Now move under the bumper and just work your way from the outside-in removing first the two plastic clips then two phillips screws, a plastic clip, 10mm bolt and then a final plastic clip moving to the center.

This takes you to the center of the bumper now its just the same the othere side, so once all these fasteners are out............... Pull the bumper away from the car starting at the corners where you removed the first screw with some force and work your way around until it comes off.

REMEMBER TO DISCONECT THE FOG LIGHTS IF FITTED !!

It really is that simple !! Hope this helps but ANY QUESTIONS JUST ASK !!!

yea I know, I looked around and couldn't find anything even tho it's quite simple and a common thing for us all, so I bit the bullet and just started ripping things off and reported back the best way ;)

but only takes about 30/45 mins to remove and replace again

Did you suss out how to get the bumper clipped under the lights? I just brought a car yesterday which the person prior to me had the same trouble im guessing as theres a gap between the lights and bumper and can see the clips. Might av a go at refitting the bumper if its not to difficult

It took mine off a couple of weeks ago..... It should align with the metal clips and slot straight in. I took it slowly, started from the center and worked my way across to the light clusters. Having said that it did look like my had some front end damage at some point as the clips were not biting the bumper properly and bent back, so I got some mole grips and bent the clips back into shape. Now it sits better than ever ;)

Hope this helps

nice, definately time to consider a touch up spray of the bumper now, thanks for the write up.

BTW, I am guessing the clips are the same as an S2000 under the headlights? If so, i found it easier to focus on getting the bumper correctly into these clips first, and then worrying about everything else, as these support the bumper during final alignment. Just my 2c.

Bumping an old thread here but does anyone know if you have to jack the car up to remove the retaining screws under the front bumper. I had a go the other day but i can't get a socket set or screwdriver under the bumper to remove this as there isn't enough of a gap from the ground?

I found a stubby screwdriver would work thats at 25mm lower

Wow amazing response time . I'll give it another bash. Mine is lowered 15mm on eibachs so will have to do some measuring this time. What about the bolts?

Looks like i'll need a stubby hammer and park the car on a bit of a ramp to lift the front up slightly.

Hi,

I was searching how to remove my bumpers due to spraying and I found this very helpful for the front bumper , but I didn't find any info how to remove the rear bumper, any help please if possible, a link or something similar?,

Thanks!

Thanks for this, pretty straightforward job. Took me under an hour to remove the bumper, grille and headlights. And similar to put back (in the rain [smilie=eyeroll.gif]

I'm in dispute with my insurance company over a sub-standard repair and decided to strip it down myself for an independent assessor to inspect, rather than pay for the privilege.

Cheers

I'd also like to know this. My head light on the drivers side is cracked and has broken clips, the bumper rail is obviously out of place now too and my grill is simply held on with the two 10mm bolts and then clipped into the bumper as the rest of the clips are broke.

Anyone want to give me some pointers for this heavy handed DIY noob? :)
