Hi guys,

Thanks for you support. I do have AA or RAC, i am not shore witch one. I had the alternator and battery tested the other day by Halfords, alternator was abou14.4v and battery 12.5v. The guy told me that the alternator works as new but the battery needs a proper charge over night, I have charged the battery - it started perfect when i fitted back ( maybe just coincidence) drive for few meters - stop the car - and when I tried to start again same problem. I am thinking to buy a new battery. Do you recon this will help or am i just wasting my money.

If the battery is 3-5 years old it need replacing anyway ;)
Get a decent varta or bosch battery.

Only way to know for sure is to have your error codes read

Defo not with a bad battery... it wil brick the ecu
You can get economy maps but not many do them and you have to specify thats what you are interested in.
Otherwise they will palm you off with the generic map where non of the low power settings are touched and you get the same or worse economy with more power.

Had similar problem whilst in France a few weeks ago. Never had a single issue and suddenly one day wouldn't start. Interior lights worked, wipers, the whole lot, even sat nav. Just went click when pressing starter. Didn't believe it was battery at first due to the sudden way it went with none of the usual warning signs. Honda garage tested it and stuck a new one on. Been good ever since.

had same problem as mrfish. was cleaning inside of car with radio on and phone charging, totally didnt think to turn engine on at all....duhh!
after reading this thread and lookin at youtube vid, did my first jump start and car running again :)
took a few tries but glad didnt have to ring RAC for a measley jump: :p

Also dont drive a few meters and stop the car.
Many cars will fault if you just move the car a few meters and switch off.
So keep the engine running for a couple of minutes or drive round the block next time just to rule that possibility out.

Read all of this link too...
Powertrain Control Module (PCM)

Only thing I can suggest is making sure the ecu is plugged in properly after disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes.
Make sure the plugs to the MAF and MAP sensors are also fully connected.
Have a good look in the engine bay to make sure you dont see anything hanging freely in mid air which should be connected to something.

Other than that It will need to go to honda to be put on the HDS system for thorough diagnostics.
You cannot read all fault codes as some are proprietory.

I believe Honda recommend min. 1 hour battery disconnection, to ensure the ECU resets itself

I have changed the battery in less then 15 min and driven for about 30 min before I stop the car. I manage to startet again in about 10 min and drive for another 30min. The MAF sensor is located on the intake air someware I gues, but the MAP sensor I have no idea where it is.

Not necessarily so....ecus have nothing what so ever to do with oil ;)
There may also be extended warranty on electrical failure if it is the case.

With the engine off...unplug them and then make sure they are plugged in fully.
They have a clip release mechanism you have to squeeze while removing
NEVER pull on the cables.

Do you mean the car only runs for 30 mins and then dies or you simply turn it off after 30 minutes ?
