Hi I've been running my 2010 civic 1.8es, on Sainsbury's super unleaded E5 for ages with no issues - runs fine. But last two tank full it has run badly getting some small misfires and spluttering on idle, coughing a bit too on acceleration.

So I switched back to Esso supreme 99 E5 straight away ran much better, switched back to Sainsbury's after that and it's pants again! Using more fuel too!

I'd heard a rumour that petrol companies are gradually now increasing the ethanol up to the full 5 & 10% now.
So If thought I'd check Sainsbury's E5 by me - it's now 4%. I'm sure I've seen videos on tube where other people have tested it and it was about 2.5%.
I'm going to test Esso next to see what that is at present. Anyone else noticed this?

Interesting, I've never used the "new" fuel (E5 is it or E10 can't remember) I don't go a lot of miles, so a few quid extra on fuel I don't mind. My cousin, who had a a ford Ka tried it and her car ran horribly. I generally used Tesco Momentum or BP ultimate. There's no Sainsbury's near me tbh. How is your mpg?
