Are you sure you bought the one that supports iDevices? Have your tried the Line in option?

I never went with the iPhone model and just use the line in for music.

Yeah it's the one for the idevices because it came with the iPhone cable. It will work with the aux in but as soon as I plug the iPhone cable in it just stops it playing

I try to install chinese version aux to usb cable. Didnt work and after that car wont start, dont know what to do?

Is it possible that anti theft is activated, because car trying to start, but it sounds like it wont get the fuel. Or water in fuel, bad battery....

You probably pressed the fuel cut off switch behind the end panel of the dashboard. Take that off, reset and all will be fine.

Thank you for this super guide. I completed the install yesterday on the girlfriends Civic with Bluetooth and works a treat so far. Most of my problems were trying to remove that top panel and trying to clip the front centre console back. But complete now :D

Does anybody know where I could buy one of those plastic thing to cover holes (or even what it's called)? I made the ugliest hole imaginable when installing my Xcarlink.

That's ghastly, get a rubber grommet to tidy it up and prevent the cable chaffing. They come in various sizes.

Thank you!!

You can't underestimate how mechanically useless I am, however just bought my civic and decided this was going to be the start of a story. Spent 6 hours on my drive today using your guide, and works a treat, wouldn't have got anywhere near without your guide Pete! Infinite gratitude.

Anyone in the Preston area confident enough to give me a hand? If not may may just get someone to install it for me.

I'm probably too South for you. I'm by Chester but I would help if you come down here

So got it all fitted (the how to guide helped massively!!) Bluetooth works great but when I put the SD card in, it only recognised CD02. Have named the folders CD01, CD02 etc, re formatted the card and still no luck. Any ideas as to how to get it to play all 6 folders?

How to test my Xcarlink works

Hey everyone, I'm new! :)

I've just bought a 2006 1.8 EX and was happy to find that there's a Xcarlink AUX and 30pin iPod connector installed in the arm rest compartment. However, I can't get it to work! I don't know which audio setting I should be choosing or even if it works at all. I have the factory Sat Nav unit.

Can someone please tell me what mode I should be using and any other diagnostic tips to get it working? The unit and wiring all looks intact.

Thanks in advance!
