We've just upgraded our old 2001 3dr Civic to a 2007 5dr (both as red as a slapped arse) from Evans Halshaw and whilst it's under their initial warranty I wanted to check a couple of things.

The digital rev indicator lights only flash when I first stick the keys in the ignition but other than that they never come on and the gear shift indicator arrows which the manual mentions are in that same display area never come on either. The Eco part works fine and everything else seems okay. I've checked that the display is set to ON in the dash config and also tried setting it to OFF then ON again but still nothing. Is this a feature which is only on some cars, am I misunderstanding when/if the indicators should appear or is something not working?

The other thing is it was only once home I realised there was no parcel shelf - is this missing or is there some strange reason that these models don't come with one?!

It's a 1.8 manual petrol Sport by the way.

Yeah you can have the shift lights on, and the eco lights too. You have to go into the car setup and enable/disable it there. You do it by holding the I button on the steering wheel. You scroll up and down with the I button too, and then select with the Sel/Reset button next to it on the steering whee.

although there appear to be six lights they come on in pairs 2, 4 & 6 so theres only really 3, I got my first rev lights last week after reading the wiki and trying it out, but I had to practically red line it to get them to come on - I thought mine were dud too but as a city driver I'll likely not see them agan. The up and down shift lights - on a 2011 Type S at least - are somewhere in the menu via holding I on the wheel where you can turn them on or off, can't remember if shift and eco are seperate options, always get lost in that menu and end up accidentally setting the 30mph warning..

As above, 'Rev' lights are not indicators to suggest when to shift, they are more like red line indicators to tell you that you NEED to shift
