Went to clean the inside of the car and found the passenger (left) footwell very wet. Carpet soaked and mat very wet. Only in the bottom of the well just in front of the seat not up where you put your feet under the dashboard. Almost as though a bottle of water had been poured in there.
Had no rain for several weeks, not driven through any puddles so can't see any obvious leak causing the water to collect there.
But.... I have a thought and need your knowledge of the 2012/13 Civic. Back in April the whole dashboard was removed when the garage had to replace the power steering unit. The dashboard wasn't fitted back correctly and had to be replaced again. Could it be the drain from the aircon? I don't know where it is on this new model. Could it have been damaged/trapped by the dashboard removal? Because of the hot weather the aircon is always on and has been working quite hard.
If not the aircon, where the heck has the water come from? I've dried it out and will do some checks (hosepipe on door/windscreen etc).
Thanks in anticipation
Chris
