I just really curious on people opinion on there favorite cars, cars that give you the most smile, not big power and massive G-force grip, just driver enjoyment!

Have to say I enjoy my current CTS but have to mention my first car. A Rover 100 Ascot in blue. What a car!

People may laugh, people may mock but I had a great time driving that car, good memories.

my first car, a beige mk ii ford escort. totally underpowered but light as heck and in the rain had absolutely no grip at all, just like starsky n hutch around every bend.....

Also, driving around the Millbrook Test track in a VXR Minaro sideways was pretty awesome.

That said, have just been out in a Range Rover supercharged tank. Much fun.

Same here. A '79 beige 1.3L. In the rain it was just a barrel of laughs for a 19 year old. Sideways at every opportunity, and fortunately, you didn't have to be going very fast to do that!

Ahh, those were the days.....

My first "own" car - Mk. IV Spitfire, 1300cc, Yellow ...

Hit a little bump while cornering vigorously, and the back end would 'hop' sideways about 3" - no more and no less - scared every passenger witless ...

I used to place a bag of cement, wrapped in polythene, in the boot of my Spitfire and also in my Spitfire GT6. That used to hold the rear end down a bit JDR.
The most fun would have been in my Lotus 7, though it was no bird puller, due to exhaust being high up on the passenger side and the rag top being completely rubbish.

lol, was just thinking the same thing ;)

My Civic is the best car I've ever owned. The Accord I had before it was beautiful, but drank the petrol, and was a bit big for my liking.

Most fun though would have to be my battered Fiat Brava that I had as my first car, purely because I drove it like I stole it, and didn't care about dings/scratches etc. To echo a few other answers, was my first bit of independance, so really changed my life.

It fell to bits, clutch went twice, flywheel was knackered, exhaust fell off, was rusting to bits, but it was my first car.

My boss's Golf GTi. I was 22 and had passed my driving test about a week earlier. It was quite an experience having never driven anything with an engine bigger than 1 litre.

Aston Martin DB9 on the track.
Best 10 mins ever in a car.

My first car, a chocolate brown Astra, NRG ***X. Ran like a bag of hammers, had a dubious smell inside and leaked oil on my parent's drive. Put a hole through the wing with a jetwash. In all measurable manner, it was a pile of turd, but it was my turd and it gave me independence to do things all 17 years olds wanted.

Don't think I will every find a car that will bring back those feelings!!!!

This is a strange one but here goes in order of most fun but not 100% road legal

1. Zip racing go cart fitted with Suzuki GP100 bike engine, the power band made vtec look bad as this was rapid with 0-60mph around 3 seconds but only had a top speed of 75mph and yes we clocked it against a car. This was many years ago when I was only 15 up to 17 years old in the early 90s and the lad I sold this to got caught by the police driving it on public roads but he did very quickly out run the Escort panda car and put it away for a few weeks as he did not fancy getting his collar felt.

2. without a doubt my old EP3 CTR.
3. very close to number 2 which will shock a lot and that is our CRZ.

but like I said for the best drive / fun was the go-cart and when 2" of the floor hitting the power band in 2nd or 3rd this was rapid very rapid and was also a lot of fun on a grass field in the wet.

A Ferrari F430 on a track day for my 30th. I was too tall for it so they dropped the roof. I forgot I didn't need to rev it to 8k and made it scream all the way down the straight in 3rd on my first lap. It was awesome. Felt so planted and agile and I could feel everything through the wheel and felt like a proper racing driver for 5 laps!

Tried an Aston Martin DB9 after that which was like being cocooned in a bubble of leather. Amazing but for different reasons. Tremendous engine but way heavier than the Ferrari and not really built for the track.

Then a pro driver took me out in an M3 and drifted around the circuit making me giggle like a girl. Perfect end to a perfect day.

The missus took the keys to the Type R to take me home incase I tried to take the racing line on every T junction.

A brilliant day :)

There is one experience that springs to mind, many years ago I had a Renault Clio it was only a 1.2 but I put in a bodykit,18s and green neons. We went to go see the premiere of the fast and the furious and afterwards my brother and I drove round the carpark with the neons on as everyone walked out. I though I was the bees knees

Easy.

A track prepared Lotus Exige.

My god, I had no idea a (road) car could go so fast round corners!

I wasn't even driving it.

Before you ask, yes it was on a racetrack.

A similar, track Scooby I drove on the same course was like a London bus in comparison - not impressed at all. Did get a nice photo with co driver, which made me look like I was going about 5 times faster than I was, though... :VroumVroum02:
