Blueprint one is going OK in mine still. Decent quality too, exact same length and mounting bracket was in the right place etc

I've got the dreaded ABS and VSC lights on now...my wife had it 2 days and broke it!!!

I have ordered a new diagnostic computer, so I'll be able to work out where the fault is, then I'll be looking to fix it. I'll try to take pics and update this thread, as the original pics don't show.

If anyone is based near me and wants to run the diagnostics on their car, I'm usually available on Saturdays at my workshop :)

I run the Delphi software and a tablet...but there are cheaper alternatives.

I took some pics when I replaced my near side rear sensor at the weekend.

It's pretty easy, remove the caliper from the sliders using a couple of spanners (13mm and 15 I think), and pull it away from the pads - support it on an axle stand. Remove the caliper carrier complete with pads by removing the 14mm bolts.

Remove the disc and you'll see the offending item poking out at you. There is a 10mm bolt holding it in place on the rear face of the hub. I recommend soaking it in plusgas or similar, and removing the rust from around it. try wiggling it out, if it won't budge you can drill and/or punch it out through one of the holes Honda kindly provided :)

Clean out the hole and the rear face before fitting the new sensor, it needs to sit fully in position to read correctly.

Spin it a few times with the ignition on before fitting it all back together - your warning light should go out :)

This has happened to me, just as I was about to try to sell the car too so I need to sort it before that.

I have an el cheapo ODB2 adapter thinger (the famous ebay blue plastic job) and it doesn't seem to be giving me a fault code. I'm using Torque Lite on the phone to try to pull the codes. It clearly "works", as I get data off it. It also gave me a logged code of a blocked something (fixed long ago) but even when the lights came on today, it didn't seem to report any fault code. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Do I need a different diagnostic thingamajigger?

You’ll need a code reader capable of pulling ABS fault codes. Cheaper alternatives will only give you engine management codes. Not other systems such as ABS VSA SAS Airbag etc. I have a foxwell nt630 which is brilliant, very easy to use and gives you not only the code but a description of what’s went wrong. In my case last week - REAR RIGHT ABS SENSOR OPEN CIRCUIT. Simple. It is pricier than the big standard readers at £114 (I paid that from amazon) then bought an eBay abs sensor for £17. Fitted it, turned ignition on, and fault was gone. Sorted

If you can get down to me in Burgess Hill I can scan it for you :)

:surprise: A friend of mine might have one. Or if I go to an average garage are they likely to check it in exchange for a ÂŁ20 note? I suppose getting one could be considered an investment... if I will insist on buying old cars :D

Very kind, bit of a mammoth journey. Plan B! Or maybe C!

Your instructions are a great help. Sadly I saw them after my efforts! I tried desperately to get it out from behind (fnar fnar) without removing the caliper and disc. The 10mm bolt came off with a 3/8" socket (because the full 10mm of material was not intact ;)) but the plastic part snapped when I tried to pull it out. Then I tried many many methods to get the rest of the sensor out of the hole. This involved almost completely destroying the old sensor. Don't bother trying! Just take the disc off!!
It took me about 4 hours in total (in the rain) because of my foolish antics. Once the brakes were off it was easy. I punched it through from the brakes side with a big-ass screwdriver and then had to ream the hole out a little (carefully trying not to drill the teeth off the big cog). Greased up my ÂŁ13 eBay replacement and slid 'er in, powered up the car and immediate results - no "BING!" and no warning lights! Woohoo!
Next time it'll take 45 minutes and I'll probably do the brakes at the same time.

PS I bought ebay item # 332275478582

I also had ABS and VSA light showing on the dash, I have delphi diagnostic and this is what it shows

After tryin to remove the abs 10mm bolt, I broken it (although i put fair amount of WD40)

This is part number I order from ebay

And in the end usin a multimeter with mV, and its constantly showint 0.62 mV, no metter if i spin the wheel or not

Maybe abs sensor is dirty from inside? Any sugestion?

I just replaced my OSR (driver's rear) ABS sensor but the VSA warning light hasn't gone out :'(

I know it's OSR sensor shot cos I did the paper clip diagnosis in the OBD2 port and got code 15.

Is it possible I must reset the ABS error codes? I didn't expect this cos almost everyone reports their VSA warning goes away instantly.

Only other thing I can think of is I didn't get a satisfying click when I connected the new sensor. It was just squeezed on til I couldn't squeeze it any further. Anyone recall a click? I don't want to break it jamming it in :/

When I push the original ABS sensor into the grey connector there's a tiny, faint click. But with the after market one from ebay it refuses to click, even though I'm shoving it in as hard as I can. It appears to be in as far as the original is, but I get the rear-right short circuit diagnostic code :(

Guess some aftermarket sensor fit better than others. Unless it is connected and the problem is elsewhere.

This is the one fwiw - might be fine, I'm still investigating
