I priced the castrol 0W30 today with trade card.

4 litres is 45.99 but with trade card it was 35.99 so 72 pounds for 8 litres 4 x 2 litres.

The Fuchs titan syn 0W30 is 31.99 for 4 litres at german swedish french. J
GSF | Cheap Discount Car Parts | Euro German Japanese | VW BMW Audi Ford Peugeot go to cataloque and get code:- page 12

Titan Supersyn SAE 0W-30 4 litres 980AA0290

then go to page 53

980AA0290 £31.50

Apparently this is the oil that honda put in in the factory when car is new. I am going to try it as I always put castrol in. Due to the price of castrol I will try Fuchs. It is a good name to trust.

Are you sure is Castrol edge 0W30 or are they just saying that. It is a very low price and usually if it is too good to be true then it usually is.

Is there anywhere you can buy the oil in a 7 litre pack as the diesel takes an odd 6.5 litres whereas a vauxhall zafira 1.9 150 bhp takes 4.5?

Typical of Honda

You see it as i do but there is a clause-

''Due to the time taken to remove some modern day engine sump guards or under trays, it may be necessary to request a small additional labour charge. If this is the case, we will discuss and agree this with you in the branch prior to commencing work.''
i think the above is for the likes of a nissan x trail that seemingly is an arse to get to but i think this price includes a filter - will need to phone them on monday

Just to confirm, I have just rang National Tyres and their price does including Oil & Filter all for £47.60.

You do have to book online though, but still at that price it is a bargain.

I can't even get 6Ltrs of Catrol Edge 0w30 for that price let alone the filter and labour to change it all.

And I can confirm they use Castrol Edge 0w30.

Just done National Tyres online check by inputting my number plate, and here is the results.

Your vehicle is HONDA Civic 1.3, 1.4i, -Bali (1991-1996).
Price based on supplying 5 litres of oil as your vehicle requires.

Premium
Edge 5W-40
This oil is not currently available from this web site, please refer to your vehicle owner's manual.

Mid-range
MAGNATEC 10W-40 A3/**
Standard oil for most modern petrol and diesel cars
£27.90

Im not sure what Bali(1991-1996) means for my vehicle type.
I wonder if they would hand me 1 litre of oil back, considering my car will only use a maximum of 4 litres for the change.
I wouldnt go with any of their choices though, because i already have Edge 0W-30 in my car, bought from Halfords when they had it discounted to £36.99.

Regarding removal of under tray etc, i have been told that the Civic has a smaller access hatch for oil changes, so that the whole under tray doesnt need to be removed.

Does it have to be edge 0-30 ? i saw tesco doing cheap castol magntex for £23 for 4 litres 5-30 ? sound goof for full sync oil is this ok ?

sound goof for full sync oil
Not sure i know exactly what that means :p but yes, 5W-30 oil is perfectly acceptable in the petrol engines up to 1.8 litres.
Minimum spec is 10W-40 semi synthetic, and some Honda dealers will refill your engine with this, but its always preferable to use something a little better.
Best spec is 0W-30 fully synthetic, and this is what i have in my engine.

Yes, that seems amazing value at National. When you click through to buy, the price goes up because they charge for disposal. But still a bargain.

Until you pointed this out, the cheapest I had seed recently was £10 for a litre bottle in Tesco. It has been about £13.50 recently though. Have seen at a similar price (arounf a tenner) in Morrisons too.
