Brake and clutch fluid change, how much is needed?

Just a quick one really, how much Honda dot3 do I need for a full change of each?

Is it recommended to flush out with water between change? I’m guessing not.

Cheers!

Don't use water!! You'll cause far more damage if you do!!! Far better off with a bit of dirty residual fluid than water in there

I did the clutch a few months ago and it barely even took 250ml. The reservoir is tiny.

Would like to know how much the brakes take as I still have a bit of fluid left over and wonder if it's enough!
Ah okay, 250ml is a small amount so hoping 750ml would be enough for the brake fluid change.

For the 250ml used for the clutch, did you do a full change by bleeding all the old fluid out?

Still need to figure out the brake fluid too, I let you know if I find out first.

LoL. Buy 1lt, its only about £5 at Halfords, Asda, etc. And buy Dot4, I don't think cars take dot3 anymore, or maybes its just I've never bought anything other than dot4. Heck buy 2lt and just keep running it through till its as clear as day.
Whilst your at it buy one of these, makes the job a lot easier too.

It’s actually dot4 like you say, not dot3.

I thought the general consensus on civinfo was go for original Honda brake fluid only which is £11 for 500ml. It’s not really about the cost, I just don’t have the space to store anything spare anymore, so it’s a case of getting how much is needed and getting rid of what’s left.

I literally have that kit that Das posted.

Sucked out the reservoir fluid then put new stuff straight in.

Then I bled/sucked the clutch cylinder until the fluid ran clear.

It really doesn't need much at all as Honda didn't allow a lot of fluid inside the clutch system. Good as it doesn't need much to change but bad as it gets dirty fairly fast.
Bit of a double edged sword, would prefer it didn’t get dirty fast though.

Best I could find for Brake fluid is from cox motor parts website:

“Brake fluid is not listed as 500ml (1 bottle) is suitable for all makes, models and years.”

So I’m guessing 500 ml for brake fluid, 250ml for clutch.
