As for the non-SATNAV head unit, i dont think there is any option to set and display date, just the time.
As for the SATNAV head unit i really dont know sure but as far as i've read it somewhere around here on the forums, the SATNAV units support date (have some kind of Windows OS running), so they can e.g. reset to summer time. But I could be mistaken.
