szegri,

Does the car have the ability to display any stored error codes?

Also, is there any good detail on how the radio antenna is amplified, and how that amplifier is powered?

Might help us with a few problems... :)

That is brilliant!
Only worrying thing is that you can drive off while it's doing it and you have NO sign of your revs, speed or anything else.
(I only went very slowly out of my car park; so maybe it resets when you hit 10mph or something.

Do you have any idea how you get to the diagnostics menu on the non-EX models?

Just do it quicker, it does work. Was rather freaked out by the frantic movement of the needles at the beginning..

I have done this a few times now, is there any chance of doing damage to car or guages by playing with this??????

I think there is no way to display the ECU's or any other system's error codes only with HDS (Honda Diagnosis System), that services have.

I promised earlier two A/C test cases but they are in the documentation at my workplace, and since now I'm working from home I can "publish" them no earlier than next week. Sorry... But as I mentioned earlier they aren't so spectacular. It shows the inner and outer temp, the position of air-mixing doors and I think something about the A/C compressor or pressure. I will give them as I can.

That would be great, thanks in advance! :)

If I perform this self-diagnostic on my FK3 (owning since January), it works fine,
but the BC shows "ERROR" while lights are flashing etc. - is that okay?
So does mine it says ERROR 1 not sure how you would tell a dealer!

Me: - 'Every time I do this I get an ERROR 1 !'

Dealer: - "Well don't do it!"

Hi everyone!

Now I have the documents at hand so I can give you the other two tests. Here they are:

Ignition OFF
Press and hold down the A/C system's Auto and Mode buttons.
Start the engine
Release the buttons

On the A/C - Radio display you'll see the sensor number and the value for that sensor. To advance to the next sensor just press the mirror/rear window defrogger button.
1st sensor: Inner temperature
2nd sensor: Outer temperature
3rd sensor: Solar radiation sensor value (Dark=00, Flashlight=04, Cloudy=10, Sunny=65)
4th sensor: Air mix opening (low value indicates cooler air distribution, higher value indicates warmer air distribution)
The other sensors shows other door opening percentages in connection with air mixing.

Other test:

Ignition OFF
Press and hold down the Auto and Recirculation buttons
Ignition inti II position
Release the buttons

You'll see the "88" at the A/C temperature. If you see any letter from A to P then it means an error message. The messages can be read out only from the HDS system at the service.

Other thing:
If you see any error message during the dashboard test on the central display, that means some communication error between the gauges. Some people said they had this error message, but as far as I know it has never caused any problem. Maybe some errorcode has been stored in the ECU that can be deleted next time you visit the service...

Cheers!

Szabolcs

Didn't work for me the dashboard test :(

Tried it 3 times but nothing happened at the end...

When you mean "Turn on the light", is it:

- minimum lights [ -oo- ] or
- medium lights [ O\ ] or
- max lights [ O- ]

Or maybe the models that come to Portugal have this disabled ?

I want to see the show [smilie=dunce.gif] ....

Three headlight settings.

Position lights (stalk twist)
headlights (stalk twist further)
Main Beam (stalk forward)

It's the Headlights you want.

And do the routine quicker.

Three twists, if you have the "auto" lights option.

And yes, you've got to do the whole sequence quickly for it to work. That's where I was going wrong.
