Just brought 250ml of Molyslip 2001E for around £10 and added it to the oil in my 1.8 i-vtec, it's supposed to reduce friction, wear, improve cold starting and improve mpg etc.

As mine has done 75k miles i was hoping it will improve my fuel consumption by a couple of mpg.

Anyone else tried/used it?

Says in the manual that additives arn't needed in the oil, however I put in it my old EP2 and was getting some v good mpg figures, as my FN1 has done 75k miles and I will be keeping for around 4 years, thought it's worth a try for a tenner, might be a few months before i start to see any difference if any though.

Car been serviced at main dealers, but a local garage the dealer use's serviced it when i brought it a couple of months back, so don't know what oil was used, prob semi synthetic 10w40

Molyslip is NOT an additive but a supplement. An additive is included to improve the oil. If the oil is good you do not need an additive. A supplement is included to do something the oil does not. In the Molyslip instance it covers the metal surfaces with molybdenum disulphide to prevent metal to metal wear. Another point is that a supplement is used as a protection and not a cure. Most additives are just cures e.g. V.I. improvers.
