Hello!

So I wanted to upgrade the stereo in my car to a Joying 10.1" snapdragon unit. I read a lot about what i need and got myself a connects2 with a harness for my car and a Din aerial antenna adapter. I also got a CTMULTILEAD.2 universal patch lead. I have a Euro hatchback model.

The unit works fine and the Aerial seems to work too as I can listen to the radio and Spotify on the unit itself.

The problem is that the climate control display does not turn on and I see no signs of the steering wheel buttons working.

I connected the patch lead as advertised, key1-key1, key2-key2. The ground is already connected in the ISO-harness so i tried to ground it to the head units chassi directly and also in a metal part of the car without success.

I read about needing to connect the cables to the car in a specific order so i started with the steering wheel and climate control connectors and then plugged in the power. I tried several times but I never got the climate control or steering wheel buttons to work. Could my connects2 unit be DOA? Or have I done something wrong? I've rechecked the cables for the multilead and they seem snug. Everything works fine with the original head unit. I seem to get "warning low power output" on the Joying HU when I press the steering wheel buttons but I don't know if related.

Best regards!

Have the old head unit in now but the battery seems to be dead, eganged the starter at first but now it just clicks. I did have the ignition on for a while while testing, could this be enough to completely drain it?

Update: Jumpstart was fine, i think i just had the ignition on for too long while trying to sort this out. The thing i am unsure about is whether the Ground has to be connected to the Head unit somehow or if it would be fine to pull the ground wire from the universal patch lead to any metal object in the car instead. The head unit comes with a 20-pin harness and an already wired ISO-connector where the black wire is occupied. It seems like I'm not closing the loop properly or that the connects2-adapter itself is not working.

Update 2: Shouldn't the climate control start working with the connects2 regardless of if the steering wheel wiring is wrong? I really think this canbus decoder is dead because it doesn't seem to emulate any original functions of the OEM head unit.

I have the same problem.
My son had a honda civic hatchback 1.8 executive.
Today he brought him to a build in station.

He has put in a dubbel din pioneer radio.
We ordered every cable that was needed.

Everything at the radio works and also steeringwheel buttons are fine.
The problem is that we not see the temperatures and the airconditioner in the display.

What must we change.

Hi Franklin.

Did you order a connects2 device? The special little box that is needed to emulate the climate control display? This one also helps you map the steering wheel controls in the head unit so I assume you have it? Does the display work at all?

If you have it then you need to start by plugging in the green connectors and the biggest grey one (power) last as far as i have heard but i did not have any problems with a new connects2 device, my first one was faulty.

Oh, you have navigation by default? There is as far as i know currently no way to remedy this if your car is fitted with navigation by default. Mine only has the standard display and no navigation. I am not fluent in your language but "Niet compatibel met voertuigen met OEM-navigatie!". I'm afraid the only way to make the climate display work is to fit a non navigation unit from the scrapyard for example. Theres no cable harness that works with the OEM- navigation unit fitted in your car. The screen is normally supplied by the OEM head unit and that's the only unit the display works with.

Annoying but i think that's your issue.

Hello,

I have been thinking of upgrading to a android system, but I have been on the fence on account of the SWC not working and read on other forums there's always talk about the CANbus system etc.

But as I have understood you just used the connect2 and a Joying, so wondering what joying did you get and what connect2 kit you bought? or even better, what the cables you used were, beacuse I already have a connect2 kit in my car, so might have the needed one to get the DIN to work haha

Also, how much does the 10" screen block your vent/dash and how's the glare?

Regards from another Swede!

Hi, sorry for the late reply.

This is the one I got together with a connects2 kit from BRL.se

I'm happy so far and I don't see that it's blocking the vent that much. The height can be adjusted though.

The kit includes the connects2 box and an aerial adapter so you can use your original antenna cable. Regarding cables it's just to follow the instructions of your head unit and connects2 device.

Best regards

Hello Henrik, thank you very much for your post. I have an issue, i ordered a Junsun chinese radio (good one) and bought also connect2 and multilead universal patch. The problem is i don't know where to plug the ground one from the multilead. Could give an advice please ? Could you also confirm that a din iso adaptor 16pin is required as my civic 8 from 2007 doesn't have iso din by default ? Thanks a ton

Hi!

Regarding the ground I put it on a metal piece from the car's chassis behind the radio, I don't remember exactly where there were 2 screws on either side and I used one of those to secure the ground. If its correct or not I don't know but it seems to work fine for me.

I got an antenna adapter that looks like this to convert the original antenna so it fits into my head unit.

Hi everyone, does anyone know if a harness like this in the pic will work in my car? I don't need climate control or any other functions from the small screen to change. I just want to know if the small screen will continue to work as it did before. Sorry for my English. This harness is supposed to be for steering wheel controls and costs €1 from Chinese websites. Anyone has try it ?
