Slightly off topic but as you are all track regulars now, would you recommend an open pit day rather then sessioned day for a newbie?
Definitely mate, you can go on track for as long or as little as you like. If you have a "moment" you can nip back in and compose yourself, alter settings and tyre pressures as needed. Were as with sessions you might feel the need to stay on track for longer than you are comfortable with

I did an open pit for my first track day, loved it.
You could try a novice day when one comes up. MSV do them occasionally. My first time was on a general car track day with race teams doing testing. It was a bit frightening at first but you kind of get used to it. A bit of tuition helped. The advantage with an open pit lane day is that you get the chance to go out in other cars. Sessioned stops you from doing this. Going out with others helps you learn.

I'm tempted to book now but might wait until closer to the time so I can second guess the weather...

Newbie on a wet track sounds that bit more scarier.

It was a mini monsoon on my first day. You drive to the conditions. No different to how you adjust on the road.:)

May as well get the practise in wet, if you plan to do more track days in the future the chances are with the British weather it won't be your last wet track day.

God dammit, there's now 3x track days in feb I want to do!

And that's before I do my bike trackdays! Lol

And your point is? Lol

Get yourself out with us. Give you a comparison between cars with different mods.:)

Cars booked in at grinspeed for 9th and 10th jan, if all goes well I'll be joining.
If its booked in with Stevie then you may as well get the track day booked. Nothing will go wrong as he's a top bloke and a half decent mechanic.;)

Add to the fact that the helmet needs christening.:)
