Does this mean Im obssessed and paranoid, do other people do it this?

1. I park far away from the entrance of Asda / Tesco as less people will walk by that way. Minimising the chance of vandalising

2. I always try to park next to expensive cars

3. I dont park next to white Vans or cheap cars

4. I always adjust the wing mirrors when parallel parking as to not scratch the alloys.

5. I park far to my right (when in parking bays on corners) so the car on my left has LOADS of room opening his drivers door, even when it means Im squeezing out falling in the bushes lol

6. I have to park inch perfect in bays shuffling back and forth so both side has enough space to open their doors

7. I drive round and round in tesco till I find a bay where the cars parked on both sides of the bay are of a certain distance apart so they dont swing their door into mine.

added

8. kingbal - Avoid parking next to people carriers!(i.e. Kid's opening the doors without a care in the world!)

9. devils_hands - Folding up both wing mirrors.

10. aAaaHhHH-LOonG!! - checking the car panels at different angels before you leave and when you return

11. pcr - don't park next to 3 doors

12. aphemia - looking for a space where neither drivers doors of the two cars either side opens into my space

13. Kimotherapy - - never park next to cars with baby seats in them.
- always park with plenty of room between your front end and the rear end of the car in front of you, especially in supermarket car parks.
- chavvy boy racer cars, jealousy can result in some form of vandalism

14. just remembered another one. Never park anywhere with a tesco/asda trolley within a 50 metre radius :O

parking paranoia???

I drive round my work car park looking for a space where neither drivers doors of the two cars either side opens into my space. :worms:

I understand all of the above sentiments but please 'DO NOT PARK IN DISABLED BAYS' the fine you may get is up to you, the inconvenience to a disabled person is unacceptable. We need the space to open the door fully, so if forced to park in a normal bay we are much more likely to put a dent in the car next to us, just have a look at most disabled cars if you don't believe me, all the corners will be knocked off as well 'not mine I hasten to add' :worms:

If I didn't know any better, I would have thought I had written this! [smilie=cheeky-grin: Still doesn't stop my car being dented by other people though - you can only do so much.

NONE of you are on your own but we are all a little mad.....I do all those things and have also illegally parked resulting in a fine a hand full of times..... but it's gotta be cheaper than a panel repair...........:grouphug:

haha cool. Nice to know I am not alone. Maybe we can put all those in the How To section on how to park in the optimal way lol

You've forgotten:

- never park next to cars with baby seats in them.
- always park with plenty of room between your front end and the rear end of the car in front of you, especially in supermarket car parks.
- chavvy boy racer cars, jealousy can result in some form of vandalism

When my wife had a battered old Renault 5, I used to look around supermarket car parks for people like you who had parked as far away from everyone else and park next to them to wind em up lol.....

I drive to the supermarket, drop the other half off to do the shopping then return home and park the car in the garage and return to the supermarket by bus :)

I do about 10 or 11 of those.

I never park on the corner spaces either, where people turning the corner are likely to misjudge it.

I never park in direct walking path of the entrace of the supermarket, even if you are a few rows back, not so much vandalism, but people squeezing through with shopping and hand bags. Park in the most difficult to walk to spot.

I never park next to any car, even expensive ones, could be a rental, or someone soo rich they change their cars every 6months and dont care, or wife of busy businessman with big hand bag.

Where possible I park in with child spaces (bad i know, but not as bad as parking in disabled), always loads of with child spaces. But only park in them if no trollys near by.

Despite all of this i still have 5 door dents, minor but i know they are there.
Check car 24/7 and I know exactly where they are, and if a new one appears i will know about it withn 3hrs of it happening.

Car is parked under CCTV at home and at work.

At work I park on the 6th floor, next to the wall (can only be hit on one side) even when the 1st and 2nd levels are not yet filled up. I eat my lunch in my car during lunch hr.

Paranoid much? Or just in love?

This made me laugh a lot - it's like my own guide sheet for parking - especially adjusting the wing mirrors so i can see the kerb when parallel parking!

Like someone else said, i know every inch of my car so that when i check it at various angles i can tell instantly of any changes!

I have an allocated bay at work so have to park in one particular place; it just means i make sure i'm extra friendly to those that park either side of me and make sure they know how much i love my car....so that now, i think if ever they did knock it, they'd feel so bad, they'd have to tell me.

The simpler option of course is to never stop the car; throw passengers out at speed and never go shopping!

Agree and do all of these points.

Had to park in a car park in Grimsby yesterday, Abbey Walk it was called (if you ever need to park there) and it had traditional side-by-side spaces and also ones where you parked bumper-to-bumper along one edge meaning no chance of any door knocks, two guesses where I parked

Totally agree with all these points.
I park at the local railway station everyday and it often makes my wife extremely annoyed when I park at the far end or as mentioned before next to an expensive car. (unfortunately a Ferrari parked at the car park has a private bay)
But it is well worth it. [smilie=ebil-thumbu:

Im very much the same, wing mirrors(as non gt) are always a definite, drives the Mrs made when I keep asking her, "don't forget to tuck the mirror in please!" think just for that feature alone ÂŁ1000 extra would have been worth it!lol
