mine did this but resets back to English when i don't respond. better to find someone who speaks German to do it for you

 

Same with mine.
Don't answer "Er Under The Dash" - after having a sulk, she starts off in English again.

P.S. I'm sure that within the menu, the lingo can be changed though.

haha.. i had the same problem.
keep shouting "english" and eventualy it will change. there are instructions in the manual on how to reset or change the language.

 

Mine changed to French . This is how i changed mine.
Press HFT talk button and say "Change Language".
For some reason at this point it now started talking in Spanish , but dont get dis-heartened !!!
Press HFT talk button and say "English"
My god i can understand what shes saying again.
Finally press HFT talk button and say "Yes"

HAHA mydid exactly the same as well when i first started the pairing process for it was my deep northern accent

 

if you put it in german, does it start shouting at you when, for instance, you cross ze speedlimit?
