The son of a friend of mine have a used miltek exhaust system for a 1.8 he might want to sell. Can check if interested
Damn, i should have known that. I have just ordered a Bastuck catback.

I wanted a milltek 😂.. but in Denmark exhausts have to be ECE approved og TÜV approved for the specific car. I guess the milltek isnt.

According to calcs you would have an extra 29mm extra poke out from standard.
10mm from ET55 to ET45 and then your 7” upto 8.5” extra, 1.5” devided x2= 0.75” (19.05mm)+10mm from ET = 29mm extra poke out more. Type that in see if I’m right. You could always use a tape measure against your wheel and check or verniers from your wheel to arch or arch to wheel and see if any gap left
You could go to town and work it fully and then take the wheel off and measure it correctly from your hub/brake disc.

It's indeed 29mm extra poke. I don't know how to measure precisely but it looks like more than 25mm might be problematic when lowering. Also people on forums tend to suggest 20mm spacers rear and 15mm spacers front.

But 5door may need more than the type r because the wheels are very tucked in. So MAYBE the 29mm increase is ok. Seems a lot for the front though.

I would measure from the edge of the current rim, top of ally because that’s the part that will be nearest the arch. So possibly work of the front and maybe spacers on the back?
You could stay at ET55 and just gain extra 19mm, but remember you gain 19mm inside towards the dampener.
what space from the wheel to the arch do think you currently have

They are 8.5x19 ET45

Do you know if they will fit? I'm afraid they will poke too much- especially if i want to lower the car

Hi, max spacers on the front are suppose to be 17mm (although I've not tested this, and other people are running 20mm on the front)
If you use a 19" ET45 8.5" rim, the center of the wheel will be 5.7mm further out than the OEM wheel with a 17mm spacer (ET38)

Hi,
17mm spacers are supposed to be the max on the front OEM alloys on the Type R Fn2 (making it ET38, 7.5" rims) but there are people running 20mm.
If you use ET45 8.5x19 the rim will stick out by 5.7mm further than the OEM wheel with 17mm spacers.
Just remember, it's the top of the wheel and tyre that will catch the wheel arch depending on suspension height, so camber can get you out of trouble if required.
I've found 8" rims on a ET45 (17" cos roads are shocking here) to fit perfect on the front and with 235 45 17 tyres.
You'd be safer to go for 19" x 8" (ET45) and 235 35 19 tyres.

Would these 18x8 ET45 be safe? I might settle with 18s as they are also lighter..
