Rattle/Knocking from Catback

Hi Guys,

Been noticing the noise for the past few weeks intermittently for long periods. Its coming from underneath the driver's seat and I'm pretty sure it's the catback as I placed some steel wool between the catback and the floor of the car whilst it was rattling(at idle)and it stopped.

It only seems to occur on lower quality roads and at lower speeds. Whilst on the motorway at 70 I dont notice it, but idling around a carpark is terrible, especially when turning left(backs up the floor knocking suggestion).

It is now occurring more often and I think I need to take it to the mechanic. Has this happened anyone before or has anyone ideas what I might be in for?

N.B catback is a Blueflame.

Cheers
Adam

Thanks Man!

Jacked it up and it is hitting off the floor - when I applied the smallest amount of pressure from underneath to the front or back of the catback the noise stopped.

Not sure what to do about it as I dont want a garage inventing problems that aren't there!

The only problem I see is the exhaust is not sitting correctly. Undo the bolts a touch and twist the pipes until they sit nice then lock up the bolts. Should get a few degrees movement in it enough to line it up nice. Also check the rubbers the other side as if they go the weight will lift that side up.
