Just replaced the battery on my 2014 civic 2.2d-tec. No issues changing battery and running fine. The problem is the built in sat nav, as with most cars needs a 4 digit code. On checking the card for sat nav, no 4 digit code just a serial no. I phoned my most local dealership to be told that because of the type of sat nav I have (series 4000) I would have to bring it in to have the code put in there. I would also have to bring my V5 and driving license as proof of ownership. I just can’t understand why the need for such security, it’s hardly a top notch sat nav. If anyone could enlighten me it would be appreciated.

Just visited Honda dealership to be told it will have to be sent away to Belgium at a cost of £200 to be reset as these sat navs code are set by the owner and as I’ve had the car 3 years don’t have any details of original owner. Any ideas really don’t want to fork out £200

So I had the car almost three years and couldn’t remember setting the code myself. So just gone out to my car and tried a code I use for a few minor things and low and behold it’s now working. Can’t remember ever entering the code myself but there you go. Getting old. Thanks all for you responses anyway.
