Hi people, first post!

Bit of an odd problem here, had my 07 for 2 years now, but last winter when it rained really heavy my stereo started turning itself off and on? It actually stopped in spring and has just started doing it again. But now I've noticed it does it after I've been driving for around 5 or 6 hours. It might do it for an hour then stop and do it again a few hours later? Really odd. It now only seems to do it when I drive for long periods (although I am constantly in and out of the car). If it is in the cycle and I have the ignition off for a few minutes the cycle stops for a short time then it kicks back in.

When it turns off it turns onto AUX and makes a crack/pop sound then turns the whole unit off. A minute or 2 later it makes the noise and goes back on to the previous station I was on.

Anyone had a similar problem and how did you go about fixing it?

Thanks

Hi mate.

It's fairly common fault with the oem head unit. The radio is overheating to the point that it shuts down. Usually the ones with this fault also gets a problem with the ac/radio display, where it lights up all the digits on and off.

There is a fix where you can change the faulty part in the oem head unit (search on the forum), but i would recommend swapping it out for a double din sice you have to remove the old head unit anyway to fix it. Thats what i am doing next summer, since i also have a faulty radio with same symptoms as you :)

hi guys
I have a little problem with the radio in my 2007 honda civic
I have had the car for a year, half a year ago the radio suddenly started turning on and off by itself. It turns off and after 2-3 seconds it turns off and then repeats the same thing. When he does that, all the symbols on the display from the radio are on, and when they are turned off, the radio works normally. Sometimes it will happen that it works normally for days, and some days the radio will turn on and off continuously. Has anyone had this problem and can suggest a solution?
Maybe it's a cold solder on the radio itself or maybe there's a break somewhere in a wire or it's touching a table
