Yes you can, it depends how hard you press the brake pedal once the vehicle has come to a stop. Lighter pressure means no idlestop.

Then, most of us get the 'battery' or 'temperature' warning so it cannot be that.

I'll often disable mine - more a nuisance than a help, and feels a bit brutal unless anticipated prior to restart, asking the engine to rev with barely a second to circulate oil at pressure - understood that residual should still be coating the metal surfaces ...

Your car is manual transmission, this only relates to AT or CVT with idle stop. (10G 1.0T)

 

If you lightly press the brake pedal, you'll see a graphic on the display indicating pushing on the brake pedal.

What I don't understand, is why the engine starts up when you move from D to P on the auto if the stop/start system has stopped the engine. My wife's Audi A3 actually stopped the engine when you shifted from D to P if the engine was running.

Starting the engine to immediately stop it again doesn't seem like a good idea to me.
