Best bet is the mugen or tegiwa kit

 

Don't think the Tegiwa kit fits a standard FN2 oil pump.

Yeah standard oil pump, just wanted to prep my car a bit for nurburgring next year, was thinking just a baffled sump and some AD08's. It will have an LSD in at some point but budget before we go may not allow it, rather make sure my oil is safe and i have a good set of tyres.

 

The clockwise system is the best IMO but it isn't compatible with the stock pump. I did a track day with AD08s with no baffled sump without issue but I wouldn't do another as oil control is very critical.

 

What pump has to be used, is it the FD2 one ? I saw the clockwise kit is a drop in kit, worth investing in an fd2 pump if thats the one it works with ?

 

Yea the fd2 pump. Its expensive and a time consuming job. I would slightly overfill and beware on long fast lefts

Any decent welder will do it for £20, we have a place locally, and one of the guys does the odd one In his lunch break for us.

 

Is it worth getting then as opposed to the other kits, i mean it works out cheap if it retains the stock oil pump, is it any good though ?

 

Yea John runs it day to day. It would be my preffered option if I was to do another event.

I see what your getting at Paul and thats fine I have thought it too, I slightly overfilled at Spa and kept a close eye on levels and warning lights etc and didn't experience any issues. I even took it handy through the long fast lefts.

Who knows if it contributated? that was 8 months ago though and countless K miles.

 

Would you advise a baffled sump for any trackday then? I mean i'm planning a few next year, only UK tracks etc.

I would advise it. Like I said I was OK but oil is critical

 

What does a baffled sump do?
Is it to do with noise?

It keeps oil close to the pickup so during hard cornering you do not suffer from oil starvation or surge ( just as bad imo)
