Hey.

I've done a bit of searching on here and Google, but just want to double check before I place an order.

Looking to upgrade my standard front FN2 OEM Pads and Discs.

Am I right in thinking that both EP3 discs and pads will fit the FN2?

If so, I was thinking of getting these Bremo Discs combined with EBC Yellow Stuff pads.

Are these a decent price? Is this a decent setup?

Budget is ÂŁ140 for the fronts.

I'm going the other way mate.. Ferrodo to yellow stuff, this is only due to what my car is used for, very short runs and motorway driving.
Just certain things to take into consideration.

There's plenty threads on here mate just keep reading and reading ;)

When my OEMs were worn out I went for:

EBC Ultimax discs all round
EBC Yellow Stuff all round

Cold performance is pretty much the same as OEM maybe a bit better, hot performance is a lot better!

Yeah, I guess it's all down to personal choice and driving style.

My driving is mainly urban, around town, mixed with some motorway sprints.

Driving style is usually quite spirited, so want something with decent stopping power.

Any other pad/disc suggestions?

Definitely mate just find what suits you.

I got advised to stay oem on the rears so Ive got plain brembos and got ferrodo with tarox g88 discs upfront.

Don't get me wrong there great....when hot, cold bite is poor imo.

You thought of doing your lines and fluid also?

Let us know what you go for mate.

Thanks mate.

I think I will stick with stock lines and fluid for now and OEM on the rear.

Am I right in thinking the disc doesn't really matter, it's more about the type of brake pad?

What's a good all rounder?

I'm sure you want a half decent disc to withstand the compound of your pad.
Most rave about brembo plains and ferrodo or yellow stuff pads combo, so there definitely a safe bet.
I've herd of folks having issues with drilled discs so I'd stay away from them.

My next time round will be brembo plains and yellow stuff for sure.

I hope this helps I'm sure someone will come along with more knowledge than myself...

No that helps mate, thanks, think I will stick with my plain brembo vented discs and either ferrodo or yellow stuff for the pad.

I've sent FreakyParts a PM to see if he can beat the prices I linked in the first post.

I have recently ordered some Stoptech plain disks. They have an E-coating finish to stop corrosion on non brake surface parts. Also seem to have all sorts of other improvements over standard disks - see advert. I had drilled and grooved disks before and found them quite noisy when braking, so have gone for plain disks this time:

Also going for red stuff pads as they have low dust making wheel cleaning less frequent. I have used them before and found the braking fine:

Hope this helps..

I just replaced my front setup with MTEC Grooved Discs and Ferodo DS2500 pads off a recommendation of another forum member, definitely looks the business, hopefully it's a good match up.

I don't think you can go far wrong between EBC/Ferodo/Brembo/MTEC. It's just a matter of who likes what brand.

I know you said your gonna stick with the stock brake lines for now. However I really can't recommend getting some hel lines on whilst doing your discs and pads.

I recently got mines fitted and the feeling and bite you get is unbelievable. I have MTEC grooved discs and ebc red stuff which were really good but with the hoses on also it's fantastic imo!
