How to fold rear seats?

Just enjoying the first few weeks of owning a shiny new Civic FN1

I've worked out how to easily release the rear seats to fold them flat but have also kind of worked out how to release the catch underneath the seats to lift them up vertically.
Is this the only way to release them to lift them vertically? Do you have to manually reach under the seat to release the catch/clip?

I just pull mine up and lower the level to lock em in place.

There isn't a catch or anything on mine.
Just lift the squab up and fold the "leg" down to lock it into place

Mine has a curved kind of catch that holds the seat in place, i need to manually release this mechanical catch by hand to release the seat?

You have a Type S so you don't have the locking mechanism, it's only on the 5 door I'm afraid (although you can still lift the seats as you found out).

Exactly NoNumpty! This is exactly what I was meaning. Obviously the Type S aint quite as easy as the 5 door but still brilliant.

Discovering loads on here! Feel a lot more confident about making tweaks, but also getting tempted by doing lots more than I'd originally intended! D'oh!
