I did this this weekend so thought I would document what I did in case anyone else wants to have a go.
I am over in Barking.Where in East London are you mate? Appreciate the offer...
I am looking at the XCarlink like the one below:
http://www.civinfo.com/forum/how/41667-how-install-xcarlink-2008-civic-ex.html
Yeh sure mate.Ah that's only a couple of hours away, if your happy to meet up at some point next month that would be really appreciated?
I'm not too fussed about the Bluetooth and hands free calls to be honest, just want the music lol however my other option is to wait and get a double din, more powerful head unit and speaker package etc and the double din be a touch screen that connects to an iPhone ..., hmmmm!
Yeh sure mate.
If you'd eventually go for a double din then it might be worth waiting for that since it would provide you with all sorts of connectivity!
Haven't done anything with double dins as yet so would be a challenge!I think that is the choice I'll go for. I'd still like to take you up on the offer of installing it together though?![]()
Same here. Felt like I was gonna end up snapping it.Haven't done anything with double dins as yet so would be a challenge!
The biggest challenge being - removing the dash section under the satnav screen, i gave it a couple of trys and then ended up using my fingers to fiddle with the wires at the back of the stereo from underneath (=working blind!) lol
Make sure the wires are plugged in properly at the rear of the xcarlink box. My Bluetooth wire was bent and the sound come out tinny, quiet, slow until I wiggled it around.
It's not possible to show track information on the Honda display, as the xcarlink (and even the Honda unit) emulate a CD changer - hence "CDC".Does any one know if ID3 tags work? All of my mp3's just show CDC n then track number
