Did you suss out how to get the bumper clipped under the lights? I just brought a car yesterday which the person prior to me had the same trouble im guessing as theres a gap between the lights and bumper and can see the clips. Might av a go at refitting the bumper if its not to difficult
If you need a hand let me know, I've had mine and my other half's bumpers off many times, would be happy to help im in Hoddesdon too

It took mine off a couple of weeks ago..... It should align with the metal clips and slot straight in. I took it slowly, started from the center and worked my way across to the light clusters. Having said that it did look like my had some front end damage at some point as the clips were not biting the bumper properly and bent back, so I got some mole grips and bent the clips back into shape. Now it sits better than ever ;)

Hope this helps

nice, definately time to consider a touch up spray of the bumper now, thanks for the write up.

BTW, I am guessing the clips are the same as an S2000 under the headlights? If so, i found it easier to focus on getting the bumper correctly into these clips first, and then worrying about everything else, as these support the bumper during final alignment. Just my 2c.

Bumping an old thread here but does anyone know if you have to jack the car up to remove the retaining screws under the front bumper. I had a go the other day but i can't get a socket set or screwdriver under the bumper to remove this as there isn't enough of a gap from the ground?

I found a stubby screwdriver would work thats at 25mm lower

Wow amazing response time . I'll give it another bash. Mine is lowered 15mm on eibachs so will have to do some measuring this time. What about the bolts?

Looks like i'll need a stubby hammer and park the car on a bit of a ramp to lift the front up slightly.

Hi,

I was searching how to remove my bumpers due to spraying and I found this very helpful for the front bumper , but I didn't find any info how to remove the rear bumper, any help please if possible, a link or something similar?,

Thanks!

Great write up. I never would have guessed to take the arches off to get to the screw.
Took me just over an hour to remove bumper swap splitter and put back on.

Thanks for this, pretty straightforward job. Took me under an hour to remove the bumper, grille and headlights. And similar to put back (in the rain [smilie=eyeroll.gif]

I'm in dispute with my insurance company over a sub-standard repair and decided to strip it down myself for an independent assessor to inspect, rather than pay for the privilege.

Cheers

question on removing the wheel arch trim.. did u just use your hands to pry them off? isn't the arch screwed to to the under spoiler?
I'd also like to know this. My head light on the drivers side is cracked and has broken clips, the bumper rail is obviously out of place now too and my grill is simply held on with the two 10mm bolts and then clipped into the bumper as the rest of the clips are broke.

Anyone want to give me some pointers for this heavy handed DIY noob? :)

Unscrew the arch fixings under the bumper and inside the top of the wheel arch.

Then gently pull from the front up to the top of the arch.

At the top of the arch/bumper, you will reveal a screw for the bumper.

Repeat on the other side.

There are fixings underneath the bumper, across it's length - undo all of these before you wiggle the bumper off. I find that lifting the bumpers lower edge helps to release the top where it clips in underneath the headlamps.

Take your time and you'll be fine.

Good luck.

Hi NathanJones

Did you manage to get around to removing the headlight, I need to replace the passenger side, how difficult was it?
I understand a Torx socket is required?

Thanks
Jason

Hi mate, unfortunately not, I'm afraid if I do it myself then it'll be messed up. Let me know how you get on? Take lots of pictures!

Will do, bought the head light of coxhonda today but going to wait until next spring as the weather up in the north east is pants at the moment and probably not going to improve
