I had one on my Civic
Simple 1 minute job to fit
IMO......It was good ...massivly improved mpg and better performance but DONT turn it to full as it caused my car to go into limp mode on more than one occasion
I eventually sold it
Pay more and get a remap

Thanks for the replies,

I must admit the idea of being able to just unplug the box easily if I ever sell the car is the main reason I wanted this rather than a full remap. I'll look into a remap too though!

Kingquick quotes 175bhp max from this which is a nice improvement and should satisfy me enough :popcorn2: I don't want to go too mental and risk chimping the already delicate clutch

Basically a simple fit and forget solution works fine with me. More power isn't the only thing I'm after so improving the MPG sounds good too, especially given the rocketing cost of fuel :(

Do they have dyno figures for the Civ ?

I have no faith in these boxes as a genuine modification, only due to HOW they work, not the end results themselves.

Tuning boxes do serve a purpose in the tuning world, but are really only good for those vehicle applications where tuning the ECU is impossible i.e. some Toyota/Lexus, Mitsubishi cars etc.

Tuning boxes adjust really one or two variables, and force the engine to work hotter and harder than they should.

A correctly calibrated remap by a professional tuning company will adjust all relating and inter-relating variables ensuring the engine is working at peak efficiency at each point in the rev range. Really you can't compare the two.

Tuning boxes are simply a crude way of making power.

I'm sure I'll get flamed, but I've seen it all too often now..
