Them rear light units look amazing. I've been looking everywhere for some sort of LED rear lights but never found any so custom made my own inner LED light units.
Have a look.

Also do you have a link for the outer LED units? I've searched on eBay for the seller you've stated but cant seem to find anything.

Yours look sick too! Have you got a guide on how you made them?

DAMN I just found a link. £531 out of stock lol. From Japan. Think I'll attempt making my own outer light units as-well
Yup, that's them. They are rarely on stock because this Japanese guy modifies OEM lights.

Your lights looks amazing!! Unfortunately i don't have the skills to do my own, so i bought these. But i think i like yours more, because they are still somewhat red and not completely black/gray when turned off. And more OEM looking with a modern twist.

I'll be honest mate I don't have a Guide unfortunately but as a vague description, I cut the back of the light unit and glued strobe LED strips inside. So when you then the lights on, they have a dynamic strobe effect to them before fully turning on. I'll try make a video and post on here.

Thanks buddy. I appreciate all the complements. I am thinking of re-doing mine at some point but a bit neater. Not any time soon though as they're fiddly to get the LED strips glued in place. Takes time and effort and a lot of patience. Not to put anyone off. You can always get second hand units and mess around. That's what I did.

I also have LED underglows in green under the car and LED red circle exhaust tips. Gotta love the LEDs lol

Installed LED footwell lighting today. Hardwired it in the fuse box as well with a dashcam. Everything with completely invisible wires. And got some brand new badges for the car...

Installation has not begun yet because the

shipment of front lip, rear bumper and spoiler is delayed a couple of days.

LED footwell lights are awesome. Mine are just USB but I tucked all the wiring under the centre console and into a 3-way 12v adapter with 2 USBs on it, which is in the little cubby hole behind the gear stick. The little IR sensor thing pokes out beside the passenger seat so I can still change colours and stuff.

They're cheap and easy, what's not to love?

Also - the Mugen tow strap is a nice addition!

Deffo needs that bumper on to pull the rear end together. Great progress though, making me jealous

Are you gonna match the colour of the trim or have it black?
I agree! And thanks 👍😃

I think i will have the lower part of the rear bumper black and the blade of the spoiler black. And rest colour matched to the car.

Hopefully i'm going to test fit it all soon. Will take some pictures and try out the colours in Photoshop.. before taking it to the paint shop.

That will be pretty unique and look awesome once it's all done. I purchased mine stock over 3 and a half years ago and modified it but by bit so there's no rush.
Take it nice and smooth and I can't wait to see the finished product

How to- 5 door type r conversion

Good luck with your project, nice to see that some folks are still modding 8th gens !
Thanks for sharing. This post is actually what inspired me to do this conversion in the first place. 👍😅

And yeah. I bought this 8th gen as a cheap daily commuter. But ended up really liking this car. A FN2 type r was one of my favorite cars when i was 18. So now i'm going to fulfill this old dream (even if it's just a 1.8) 😁

This shows how different we all are which is a good thing. I would far prefer a standard car on the outside that was a type R underneath than the other way around. It would frustrate the hell out of me to look at the outside and then have no get up and go when I started it up or got overtaken by chipped diesel cars! But that’s just me and whatever makes you happy is what’s important.

Yeah, those pesky chipped oil burners are a bit quick, and still get 50+mpg ! Lol...:giggle:

Lol yep they are a bit quick... As car enthusiasts, our cars are a representation of who we are. Unique and no other is the same, we don't like being standard lol.

Plus cheaper car insurance, cheaper road tax, better MPG.

If I didn't care about any of that and had loads of money to throw then I'd have a Turbo'd FN2 with over 400bhp right away.
Or the crazy looking FK8.

But back to the topic, I think a set of Bola B1 18" alloys look really good on the civic
Go for 17" on the Bola, 8" width and 45 offset, then you can fit either 225 x 45 or 235 x 45 tyres as this improves the ride massively
Difference between the two -

Them wheels look really nice I like them a lot.

Definitely go for 8" wide alloys if you’re going for a 17" size.
Mine are 18" wheels 8.5" wide running 235/40/18 Michelin PS5 all round. Feels like it's on rails compared to the original setup.
Fitted with Eibach Pro lowering springs I think they’re 25mm and they are plenty.
Any lower and it would be impractical for driving especially over our speed bumps.
