Sorry to dig up an old thread. I'm having this issue on my CTR. It's got sat nav. I can't get the clock to adjust to the correct time through the main unit. It seems to have gone wrong since changing both headlight bulbs and having removed the battery.
Any new fixes ideas on how to solve this.....ill give the battery disconnect a go

It's something to do with 2022 apparently some sort of bug, won't be fixed untill at least August supposedly.

ahhhh that's what it is, is it likely to be a recall into main dealers or a simple fix itself somehow? It's been driving me mad for weeks now, I've lost count how many times I've disconnected the battery.

My alternator recently went. After being fixed, the clock just cannot go back to normal. Tried everything in settings etc but the time will not budge.

Fuse? Doubt a battery disconnect will do much?

Honda UK are aware. This is their latest response :

We have just received some more information regarding this and were advised that the Honda technical department are currently working on this.

Once there is a fix for this issue Honda authorized dealers will be made aware of it and will be able to assist with this at that point.

A service bulletin will be issued to our dealers from Honda UK on how to fix this.

As such it would be best to check with your local Honda authorized dealer for any updates as they would have the latest information for this and will be able to assist once the fix is released.

They can also contact the Honda technical department for additional assistance with this if necessary.

Hi,

I disconnected the battery on my 06 diesel Civic, something I’ve done lots of times with no problem. But after reconnection, my clock was showing the time +4 hours, so 8am was 12pm.

Checked the manual and it says the time is set by the Sat Nav GPS signal. There’s a clock adjustment setting in the Sat Nav menu but it makes no difference.

I disconnected the battery for a while today in the hope it’d solve it, but now it‘s showing 1am when it’s 4pm.

No idea where to start so I’m hoping someone has come across this before and knows the magic to do?

This is a problem with all of the sat Nav versions now, Honda are apprantly trying to come up with a fix but that won't be until at least August.
This is what I'm doing untill it's fixed. Or you can disconnect/reconnect the battery at 1am.

From today 27 march 2022 (11 august 2002 honda nav) the time is correct and will be until 12 June 2022 (27 October 2002 honda nav).

I've also had this issue, and have implemented the "hardware fix" as described by DogP over on the Acura forum (Navi clock/ dash clock Sync MEGATHREAD (UPDATE:04-06 fixed!) - AcuraZine - Acura Enthusiast Community - waiting for the admins on their forum to let me in to thank him!).

For anyone not interested in the hardware fix and happy to wait until August, it looks like around 17th August 2022 is the magic date that the clock will become adjustable again - but you'll probably need auto daylight savings turned off and to adjust it manually every 6 months.

Here is a fix for owners of the West Europe White Disc 3.C0.

I've installed this on my Sat Nav, but haven't fully tested that the clock works again. I currently have the hardmod installed, and to uninstall it would involve stripping out the dash and glove box to remove it, which I currently don't have the time to do. I'm pretty sure this should work, and I can verify that it didn't break my Sat Nav. However, do this at your own risk!

If you're the first one to try this and it works... congratulations, you're a pioneer!

What does it do?
For some reason Honda decided that 2003-01-01 is the beginning of time, and currently the Sat Nav clock is receiving times in 2002 (due to the GN-80 GPS module believing it's 2002 due to GPS week rollover). This patch changes Honda's beginning of time to 2002-01-01, which should mean the clock works again. - Well mostly, it won't adjust for DST as it will still think we're in a different month of the year.

Instructions
This will work with a CD-R/CD-RW/DVD-R/DVD-RW, personally I opted for the DVD-RW.
Copy the following files to a folder on your PC from the original Honda DVD:
A0000_00.MNG
PRG_INFO.MNG
UPDATE_APL.exe
UPDATE_APL_AVN_EU.exe
SMGA.bin
SMGA2.bin

Save "civicclock.txt" from the attachment as "civicclock.exe" in the same folder.
Run "civicclock.exe" - the SMGA.bin will be updated (check the timestamp has changed).
Delete "civicclock.exe".
Burn all the remaining files to a CD/DVD (on Windows make sure to use the "standard" mode and not the newer "USB like" mode).
Insert the new disc into the Sat Nav DVD drive. When you see the message about "Can't read disc" simultaneously hold down "Menu", "Map" and "Back" (the bottom left button that looks like an arrow looping back on itself).
On the diagnostic screen go to "Version".
Press the "Download" button, and wait until the disc is installed.
Once the system reboots you can remove the disc and put your original disc back in - and hopefully have a working dash clock!

Thank you for the instructions! For me it worked, on the dashboard, it shows the correct time now, in the diagnostic menu GPS time is still 2002, but doesn't affect me.

How about the SatNav, does it show the actual time of arrival now instead of in how many h/m I will be arriving?

Exact same thing here with my 08 ex model. I even tried listening to Radio 1 (god help my ears) to see if they send the time code update with the broadcast... no luck though.

Would that only apply to radio-controlled clocks (60 kHz - MSF)?

As the Ex model have GPS and time is taken from that I guess ....

£5 wristwatch can fix that

Let's hope you don't get fined for "Driving without due care and attention" and the problem is that your SatNav only shows
now in how many h/m you will arrive but not the exact time of arrival that is bit of inconvenience if you need to be somewhere at certain time.
