Talex speed camera detector.

I have used the talex detector for many years and have been pleased with it, and now need one for another car.

They have the new talex in the local Halfords for £40 and I nearly bought one, but the assistant toddled off for the keys to the display case never to be seen again......

Anyway, that might be a blessing as there seems to be bad reports on the web about Adam Blair and his company with an investigation by trading standards taking place through dodgy dealing.

I have always been able to update my system (not done it lately though) without a problem, therefore can any one give me an update on the
situation, and is it safe to still buy a TALEX system?

I nearly bought a talex, but also read about the possible problems associated with Adam Blair.

In the end I went with Novus_GPS_Rider.

I have a Talex ...its very good and accurate but I should have bought a Novus as that's got free updates for life.
Some of Mr. Blair's online antics are bizzare to say the least..IMO..Get a Novus

Have just updated the Talex unit via the web and seemed to work fine, not sure if the content is up to date though

I have had a TalexLite since early 2007 and it is still working AOK.

Due to 'circumstances' I am still able to update it regularly from Talex.

I did download the Novus database just before Xmas as a test and I immediately found 2 fixed cameras missing. Surprised me because they had been in existence for about 15 months at the time.

Talex had them listed within about 4 weeks of them appearing.

Of late I have noticed 2 sets of M25 cameras flashing speeding cars. I have also noticed the general flow of traffic to be almost legal along the stretches of M25 where the flashing has been evident so I assume some NIP's have been sent.

Just after Xmas the Talex database now include these 2 locations.

At least it is being updated.

Not at £3.95 a month it isnt!!!
Nearly £47.40 a year!!

Not tight, it's excessive. £3.95 doesn't sound much until you do the maths!
