Seen the ads and wondered if this really does dry without leaving any water marks?

People only say otherwise when people post from non experience of a product or process yet it looks as though you have , it helps no one especially when it's misleading.
Sometimes it's better to not post at all unless you have used a product which in this thread you have and has helped everyone. It's about making sure people that take advice on forums get the proper advice from people who have it , we can all tap keyboards but we Just make sure we tap the right keys especially when involving Paintwork.
By the way this product is only as good as your water hardness ad ideally likes double digit temperatures and not direct sunlight, I've seen results that have been good , make of that what you will. There are threads on the net regarding it , not for everyone for sure.
I actually asked you on another thread if you had done a car wth c1 which you seemed to have missed after saying get it and DIY.

I believe you are still on about the Triplewax whereas im on about C1. Reread.
Behave you two.

I think it's great having different opinions on a forum- especially from two different worlds.

Heavenly clearly knows more than most of us will ever need to know but an insight is always appreciated, Robbo represents the normal guy.

Can't you accept this and both share opinions from the different worlds without the bickering on every cleaning post...?

Right lads i can clear this up. My uncle tried this on his new bmw which has had a sealant applied when he bought it although its never seen any wax. i witnessed it first hand and to be fair the results were outstanding, the water just sheeted off and sort of evaporated away. Whilst my car was at his i decided to give mine a go, which is layered with collinite 915. My results were terrible, no sheeting, pools of water left on the flat surfaces, water spotting etc etc.
With this in mind i decided to contact tetrosyl who make this to explain my results. This is there reply quote,

"I have been speaking further to our Technical staff and they have advised that with regards to the different effect on various panels, we guess that the horizontal panels differ to the vertical panels (ie roof/bonnet/boot lid Vs doors/wings/quarter panels)? The may be simply due to the orientation of the surface.
Liquid Gold does not contain wax but it does contain another ingredient which leaves a microscopic coating over the external surfaces which provide the self drying 'wetting' properties which is different to the protection offered from a wax. The product will not strip wax from the surface any more than a conventional car shampoo".

They did tell me that you would not get the full "wetting" properties if your car is waxed. My conclusion is that if you wax your car then this is a waste of time/money. Hope this clarifies a bit.

Yep exactly, you can't really expect many products to self dry on a Surface laden with such a petroleum tanker content product like colonise , you would still have water beads on a panel after rain 10 to 12 hours later when other cars will look dry. This Is obviously aimed at a Market that wash and walk away on a Sunday morning which is probably 99% of the population, 99.9% of the population wouldn't even have waxed their car.
I am very surprised to read people state this product strips wax, their findings are what they have experienced but I cant think of any ingredient a company could put in to remove waxes especially a shampoo. Tests were done on supernatural hybrid at KDS one of my good friends and one of the best detailers in the uk along with Dom from Dodo at the same time infront of 10 trainees and they struggled to strip the wax using ipa and then panel wipe , I can't help thinking there is another reason why people have thought this product removes wax , it may just be very unlucky or the wax originally hasn't bonded very well. It's good to hear all sides and experiences...
I wouldn't use it personally and I can't think why anyone would into detailing but I'm sure many people will.

I seen this thread when the opening post was made, but have not said anything until now.
I tried Liquid Gold back in February, and actually created a thread on my experience with it.
At the time of using my car had a coat of Meguiars polish and wax 32 months previously, then an unknown coat of polish 20 months previously(i did not own the car at this time).

The shampoo done exactly what it was stated to do, with what i considered to be excellent results.
However....it left my windows badly streaked so they would require manual drying, and it was not very pleasant to use because it has a rather greasy consistency.

I used it twice in total so still have almost a full litre bottle tucked away at the back of my cupboard.
The product worked for me, but i would not recommend it and will never use it again.
