Just come to wash my car and see that my offside fog light is smashed on my 3-door 59 plate Type S GT.

I am looking to buy a replacement from ebay.

Can anyone give me advice on how to change the fog lamp without taking the front bumper off. (I had by front bumper replaced at a dealership and it took several attempts to fit it properly)

My front bumper looks identical to the type R, coulour coded and with lower than the 5 door civics.

I have read a few threads but nothing specific to a Type S of this age.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks onearmbandit. Just read it and it is mainly for fitting a pair of fog lights. There is some info about possibly being able to change a fog lamp without having to remove the bumper...I hope so.

Good advice re the fog light covers.

I will have to look to see if there is a hole under the bumper to get the socket rachet into. As mine is a 59 plate type S, it has the same bumper as the Type R, which the insructions dont apply to. Once I get the part I will see what route I have to take. Would rather take the wheel and arch liner off than take the bumper off. They surely can't make it too difficult as there would be a need to change a the bulb. Has no one changed a bulb on a fog light on a Type S after Sept 2009?

Although I have the same colour coded bumper as theType R I have felt under the bumper, under the offside foglight and I do appear to have two holes...good news.
Once my fog light arrives I will do some pics of how it pans out.

Today I fitted my ebay ÂŁ28 fog light. All went smoothly once I had sourced the tools.
1. Firstly I decided to drive upto a kerb with my front overhanging the road. This way I didn't need to jack up the car.
2. There are two holes under the bumper on either side. The inside hole of the two is the one that has the retaining bolt.
3. Using a 10mm socket and a long extension, place it in the inside hole and locate on the bolt. Remove the bolt.
4. The fog light should just drop out.
5. Disconnect the electric connection with a screwdriver.
6. Remove the bulb holder and bulb with a twist and put it into the new fog light.
7. Reconnect the electrical connection and test the light before refitting.
8. Put the bolt in the socket and feed through the hole to the fitting hole on the bumper. Hold it in place then push the new fog light into place. The bolt should then easily locate into the thread of the new fog light. Tighten the bolt...Job done.

My ebay fog light looked identical to the one I removed. At ÂŁ28 as opposed to ÂŁ94 for a genuine Honda part this was a good buy.

Photo's posted below.

I just recently got a pair of covers.
As the fogs are slightly recessed, the extra depth makes them flush, which sort-of looks right, and the cut, shape and fit are as near-perfect as possible.
Not remotely related either, just a happy customer! :)

One small tip... put a tiny bit of blutac in the socket so the bolt doesn't fall out when withdrawing the extension from the bumper.

This happened to me :( but luckily I could reach it through the fog light hole :)
