sorted car insurance again, im noticing the excesses on 9G type-rs are getting silly, suspect its due to part prices for replacement bodykits etc, last year i was ÂŁ440 after some hunting, this year best i can find is around ÂŁ600 which isnt bad until you spot total excess is ÂŁ800 mother forkers!

LV was the cheapest (go figure!) its great being an oldie :p shes getting on a bit now (75k miles) possibly replacing her next year while shes still worth a few quid.
Just did mine today for the HR-V.
Sheilas Wheels renewal ÂŁ517, AA via GoCompare ÂŁ261 Bit of a no brainer!

Catching up a wee bit as the CTR has had a lot of attention over last few weeks.

A lot of work after it was side swiped whilst parked in a parking bay at roadside.

1. Replaced rear drivers side tail light assembly.
2. Replaced drivers power folding door mirror. (Smashed off and left hanging by wires)
3. Took out remainder of smashed rear qtr panel window and carefully shaved away window sealant with razor blade.
4. Ordered replacement window from Cox Motor Parts.
5. Left car with painter to repair gouge on upper rear quarter panel and paint rear quarter panel, bonnet, two wings and roof.
6. Fitted replacement passenger door mirror, subsequently need auto electrician to repair wiring to fix operation of power folding function and left right mirror movement.
7. Replaced red H badge on grille.
8. Cleaned crap under fog light protectors.
9. Ordered rear window “i-vtec” sticker and front number plate screws and caps.

The car looks better today than it did when I collected it from Yeoman's, Honda, 13 years ago.

**** man. Did they just bugger off and leave it?

Today, some minor cosmetic work.

1. Replaced the number plate screws and white caps after removing the rust stains around the previous fixings.
2. Removed the faded remnants of the old rear window i-vtec decal and replaced with a new one.
Can I ask where you got the window decal? I needed to replace my i-ctdi one but could only find a reproduction that’s about twice the size of the oem.

I had an advisory for rear axle beam rust on MOT, a year later it failed the MOT because the beam was done for, it went downhill really rapidly. Same testing centre and a garage I trust. So I'd get it checked over.
I been discussing with garage around 4months ago about rear beam and getting it replaced and when I want it doing. They said they be highlighting it on mot when it comes around. It’s pretty solid as I have been around it. It’s just starting to crumble where the torsion beam goes through to the hubs.
It’s not going to be cheap as I don’t want to use a euro beam and want to use OEM, looking 1k for beam. It’s also around £400 for all the OEM components from the beam to the wheels.
I have already replace the wheel bearings, hubs, discs/pads, calipers, abs sensors in the last year and half.

The beam on mine was ÂŁ700 but mine is a 2008 2.2 Diesel, the garage I go to doesn't put cheap parts on, but I've read people having the job done for ÂŁ500 so maybe that indicates a better part I dunno. I need some new bushes on the rear as the rear is creaking and it isn't the rear brake caliper, I had one replaced but the other is still functioning. I get stuff replaced when it needs it. I've had the car nearly 4 years and the clutch has slipped on and off all that time. So I dunno how much meat is left on it, it seems to adjust itself. But that will be the big cost when that needs doing and the DMF.

I had fitted new Febi Bilstein anti-roll bar droplinks to my Civic 7 months ago.
Today it failed its MOT due to one of the droplinks rubber boots having split!

Currently waiting to hear back on a warranty replacement request.
Hoping I can get a new droplink fitted in time for an MOT retest.
